Hi All,
I'm thinking of using the above company as they showed the most compassion and understanding of my situation and difficulty at having to make the decision to have my boy PTS.
I was just wondering though if any of you have any experience with this particularly company good or bad...
Hi All,
I'm actually based in South Wales but thinking of using the above company as they showed the most compassion and understanding of my situation and difficulty at having to make the decision to have my boy PTS.
I was just wondering though if any of you have any experience with this...
Does anyone have any thoughts? I'm really at a loss what to sell it for but unfortunately I have to say goodbye to my boy and want to use what money I can get to have him cremated and his ashes given back to me so he comes home.
I'd approach her politely and just point out your concerns gently and if no joy after that you have your answer.
Of course the old owner will care but she should understand, at the end of the day how would she feel?
No harm in pointing a few things out.
Good Luck! :)
Hi All,
Just need a bit of advice please. I promise this is not an ad!
I have recently had to retire my boy and will be selling his saddle but I'm not sure what price to ask for so any ideas would be great.
I have a Balance Equinox General Purpose Dressage Saddle 17.5" Wide fit in...
I couldn't rate them highly enough! Mine is 22 now and I wouldn't have anything else. He has now been retired but not without working very hard all his life and trust me if he could he would keep going.
Absolute darling, could be strong but not overly and would always listen and I must say to...
I would say you will find she's more than likely had it before, a good farrier should be able to tell. Last week we had all the lovely weather and the grazing will have had a boost hence bringing on this bout.
For now you are doing the right thing while she is in the acute stage. It is...
While she is in the chronic stage with heat in the feet she can not eat grass, muzzled or not. She needs to be put on what i call starvation diet where she can have a layer of old hay (if it's the square bales) newer hay could cause her to have laminits if it is too fresh. (Again I learnt this...
Unfortunately it could be any number of things, but i would definitely check for cushings at that age. According to my vet most older horses get it, some cope and some don't and will need medication. My Shetland has it and is on medication everyday.
I would also say try feeding Formula 4 Feet...
Just a thought but you said there was heat and tenderness and bruising. It could be that he had a spot of laminitis (the x-rays will show this).
Not sure if you know (I found out the hard way with my pony) but when there is a frost or snow there is actually a very high sugar content in the...
I've found interlocking the muzzle with the headcollar and making them as small as physically possible without causing discomfort works. Also wrap normal medical bandages around the buckles, clips and velcro. However, that does make it less likely to break if they get caught in the field. Only...
He was stiff and not moving quite right prior to the fall, a friend who is a riding instructor came to visit us and rode him for me to see if she could loosen him up as she is a much better rider than me. They were just riding in one of our fields. She was walking and trotting to see what he was...
Sectioning her off with a companion would definitely help settle her. Is she in the chronic stage on laminitis at the moment or is she coming through the worst of it?
What do you feed her?
Shetlands are a knightmare, trust me I know! Mine could be on deaths door with her laminitis and still escape!
What i did was get some rubber matting and lay it out side her stable door and then I built a pen around that with road traffic cones (don't ask me where i got them) and metal gates...
