    How old before you stop competing

    Have a friend who is 76 and still competing provincially on a 6yo ISH he bought last year. Admitted height has been reduced but saw him yesterday go clear.

    I have noticed at a couple of CSI's recently a few horses 'wearing' a wide and thin black elastic (surcingle) positioned under the girth and behind it - pretty much where your leg would be. It looks very strange - any ideas?.

    Absolutely miss_c I thought it was a win-win situation and as i said it started off really well. The young rider was great preparing young horses and jumping them up to a metre. She lacked good horses to go higher, combined with a lack of confidence hence I brought in an international level...
