    Mallanders/Sallanders on a welshy

Thanks for all your suggestions, it has given me some good ideas especially as what will work for one pony needn't do the same for another so I'm well up for trying anything and everything until I feel it's under control. ALSO its good to know that i'm not alone, I hadn't really heard of this...

    Mallanders/Sallanders on a welshy

Thanks, I've only washed the once. It's not sore or infected, I've sent photos to the vet and he's said no other action necessary however I feel it could be improved.

    Mallanders/Sallanders on a welshy

Hi, looking for any help or new ideas on managing this condition. He is not your usual hairy cob, just a 13.2 welsh pony. It was just one little patch but has now spread all the way round his 'knee' and fetlock on just one rear leg. How does everybody cope with this? He doesn't tolerate me...

Hi, does anyone clip their cushings ponies, mine has got an extremely long coat this year, it's the first year although she was tested positive for cushings 7 years ago. She is shedding the undercoat but the top coat is so long, I was just wondering what anyone else does. She is kept out all...

    Cleaning continental reins

How does everyone clean their continental reins, I'm ok with the leather bits but how do you clean the webbing?

    Pony with back pain

When I had the saddle fitter out to get a saddle for my new pony she said she thought he might have a bad back and recommended getting a physio which I did. The Physio said he had extreme tight muscles in his back and was stiff laterally as well - she gave him some treatment and instructions on...

    Bit problems

I highly recommend the Myler combination bit - my pony used to grab and run but this is kinder than a pelham but twice as effective - she never grabs now and never runs through the bit or throws her head about - I think its the combination of nose pressure and not being able to grab the bit...

    Keeping hooves tidy between trims

My farrier gave me a rasp so that I could help stop the flairs between trims so that it helped the foot to grow in the right direction.

    Cushings at 11yo :(

I put my mare on chaste tree berry and you wouldn't know she has cushings and my friend also uses it on her elderly horse that has cushings because the prascend wasn't doing anything for him
