    Sarcoids possible on new horse

Yes I was only going to say last 2weeks which is when the bald patches started appearing. I’m only going to ask those to be looked at first then show vet the scabby bit if he hasn’t found it already, it’s so minute you could easily miss it

    Sarcoids possible on new horse

I’d take ringworm over a sarcoid any day. It does seem an odd place and Iv looked all over for any other sarcoid type issues and can’t see any. but I guess will find out tomorrow from vet.

    Sarcoids possible on new horse

Vet is out tomorrow. Iv just never known ringworm to cause a lumpy area but I guess that could be a scab just slow to heal (he is a ginger Tb after all!)

    Sarcoids possible on new horse

It doesn’t really apart from if it is a sarcoid and I want to sell him in future his value has greatly reduced. He does tick all my boxes and it’s not in a bad place at all so it’s not an issue to me exactly more from a resale perspective. I am suspicious that it could be ringworm also...

    Sarcoids possible on new horse

Bought a new horse 1month ago had 5stage vetting passed it. I noticed he had a small scab on neck when trying him and assumed from cut (pretty sure owner said this was case) so didn’t think much of it. I’m sure it’s shrunk but still present looks a bit scab like grey/black with irregular...

    BEVA guidelines

Sadly I had to have my horse pts on Monday following an injury where he split his pastern. I don’t expect the insurance to payout as the year always swindle these things but I wondered if it matters the Vet didn’t pts altho he did X-ray and diagnose my preference was bullet and he didn’t...

    Sudden death

My mum and dad had a Leonburger who was 18months old and same as your friend went down in morn and she had died in her sleep, she was in same place she was when they went upto bed so know she didn’t struggle or suffer. They didn’t do a post mortem as they didn’t see any benefit

    Does this rug exist?

Can’t help with rug but I actually found it easier to clip my horse out when riding from field and then he didn’t sweat up or if he did I could easily sponge off without too much water and then put turnout on (most modern turnouts are breathable so doesn’t matter if slightly damp when turned out)

Addition to my WWYD post! Hole in hind suspensory

Turning away for a year if you can afford may well fix her. Dr green is wonderful. But equally it could break her more and then end up with pts anyway. I operated on and rehabbed my mare who had KS and psd she was ok hacking but once rehab increased to more work she broke so turned away and...

How would I know if bone fragment is being rejected?

Had a horse who kicked his splint bone and had a small chip they were unsure about it being rejected or absorbed. It was rejected- the wound remained open and angry- always remained productive of yellow gooeyness and after about 6weeks the small chip was at the surface of the wound and was...

    Jonty Evans ....

Such a sad update, I had hoped to see a positive update so gutted to see this. Fingers crossed he just needs time- plenty of people do wake up slowly and weeks after being in a coma so it is possible. I’m pleased he is out of intensive care as they obviously are happy he won’t deteriorate it...

    Dressage moves... in the field.

Mine regularly shows off some beautiful passage, medium/extended trot and canter, emergency stops, as well as some less beautiful looking rodeo moves. Luckily the later stay firmly in the field and I’m yet to work out how to replicate the fancy dressage moves unless he is spooking at something!!

Moving to Cheshire and looking for farrier and vet recommendatio

Can’t help farrier wise but Vet wise Nantwich vets do both Equine and small animal and aren’t too far from northwich. They are one of the largest and well used Equine Vets in the area and have there own hospital/theatres. We are about 25miles from them but most yards around me use them as they...
