I downsized almost two years ago from a huge cob to a connemara. Best thing I ever did, now have two super young men and having so much fun. They are very quick learners and do need to be worked, but have huge characters and are cheaper to keep, both mine are barefoot. Go for it , you will love...
Please tell me if you find anything that works!! I have the same problem with my young pony, no withers plus he is croup high as he is only four, so not only do I slide to one side but also feel as though I am riding down hill!!. Have just had the saddle fitted and I'm sure when it settles down...
Really - I have spent hours trying to find anything similar and to no avail!! most mention protein lumps which I don't think they are, neither rain scald, mites or lice. My though was heat rash which is why I am asking for peoples thoughts. Silly me thinking that this was what the forum was for...
My connemara pony has come out in small scabby lumps. Have just clipped him and where the scabs have come off he has very small bald patches especially on his flanks. These seem to be itchy. Do you think they could perhaps be heat related - the weather has been so mild wonder if he has been to...
I love my 3.5ton lorry but only carry two ponies. Be careful who you buy from and check the mileage carefully with VOSA website. I got done with mine and had to drag the whole thing through the courts! The garage I bought it from now advertises in horse and hound.
I have a rear facing 3.5 ton and both my ponys travel fab in it. That said I don't think I would like to travel anything bigger than a 14.2 in it as they do sway a bit. please be careful where you buy it and check the mileage is correct by using the VOSA website. I have been cought out with mine!
I have a coach built 3.5ton lorry with small living in the back. It's great for my ponies but wouldn't want to travel anything bigger than 15hh in it, they soon sway about if you horse moves about much. Please be careful where you buy from there are some real sharks out there, I know I've been...
My lovely boy was on pergolide tablets for about four years. He was eighteen when he was first hit with a bout of laminintis, but his tests results came back very high so there was no doubt he had cushings. He was started on two tablets a day and the reduced to one and a half. He only ever had...
Try a Chamoise leather (hope I've spelt that right!) underneath. I've got a young pony with no withers and my saddle slips about a bit, just tried this out today and it does really work and they are nice and thin so no sweating.
