Hi all. I have had the vet out to my gelding to sort his passport. I know very little about him. My question is, the vet took hair for DNA testing and said there are 2 different types of passport I can apply for which she briefly explained but I didnt take in much though I know she said one was...
Yes it is perfectly normal especially with a school horse. The horse is probably part of several lessons a week and has predicted what you were going to do ie canter as that is what usually happens.
When things happen where we feel out of control it's normal to feel a little shook up by it...
Sorry ladysam yes she was pawing the ground. I have taken your advice and have loaned a lovely schoolmaster who has been there and done that and he is absolutely lovely.
Sorry don't get on here much. Thank you for all the advice it is much appreciated.
The horse went back. It was a trial period with a deposit paid only. I know not to buy a horse without getting it vetted. It didn't scare me with her tail swishing/feet stomping it made me think she is...
I totally expected the settling in period. I've been riding/ working around my yard for years and years but this is my first horse which is definitely a whole new experience and yes I am naturally a nervous person. I'm also surrounded by very experienced knowledgeable horse owners all of whom...

I'm not happy with her she was stomping her feet at me earlier. The other girls opnions are that there's probably something wrong with her and not one of them have said...
Sooo I posted last week about riding my new horse and it didn't go very well! My instructor looked at her and felt her hind leg she thinks she's tender - horsey lifted her leg and wouldn't let her touch it.
Also her feet are a mess and she has said she shouldn't have been sent like that (I...
Thank you for your suggestions. I went up this morning to see her and it was lovely. Though now I'm home I have to admit I'm dreading my lesson a bit in case she acts up. Flitting between 'it'll be fine' to 'oh no'. Trying to think positive
Yes I definitely need to work on my confidence. I was 100% expecting something to go wrong when I got on her. I'm going to try and be more confident today and hope yesterday is the worst she'll be. If she's the same today I know I can actually deal with it!
I'll update how my lesson goes
