Not really odd, but he has his habits! B will only drink from the field trough (or the gross hay-soaking water) in summer and will only drink sparkly clean fresh water in winter. He does a pee whenever he comes off the trailer (always away from home, not always when we get home, but often!) and...
As someone who always seems to be having a confidence blip, I feel your pain! My top tips;
Use a neck strap. Not a magic wand, more like a helping hand. Feeling a bit iffy coming into a jump? Leg on and grab your strap - your legs are saying 'GO!' without your hands giving your true feelings...
I know this situation well, my last job was in London and saw me arriving at the yard around 6.30pm just in time to see everyone else leaving! Morning riding wasn't an option for me, either, as I had to leave at 7am to get the train. Dark, cold, lonely evenings. Not good for motivation!
I...
I own the dressage version of his jump saddle, it's the one that doesn't fit! Sadly I'm finding most dressage saddles have a curved tree - B has quite a flat back but has a wither. Curved trees don't suit him at all.
No reason for treeless, specifically - Solution Saddles kept coming up in...
Long time no post! I started a new job where I actually have work to do, so have been unable to get on the forum much at all. But I had a fitting with Solution Saddles at the weekend and I just want to get some opinions.
Some of you may remember that I've had some trouble getting a dressage...
Fantastic, look at you both go!! You're flying!
I so love reading posts like these, so uplifting. Keep up the great work, I look forward to more reports from you and Koko :)
Still nothing for us as splint is still hot :( had planned on Borde Hill UA this weekend so sadly won't be able to go. After all this rain the going should be amazing.
Really hoping we'll be back in action and ready for Chilham UA in September.
The worst thing about all this is I started...
Wonderful report, I love reading about Andy! He's so cool :)
Sounds like you had a fab day, despite the slight mishaps lol I'm sure next time you won't drift so much :)
Looking forward to the next report!
I did the 70 last year. Typical of Borde Hill, the SJ course was lovely but it is on a slope which provides a challenge in itself.
The XC was mostly very nice and inviting but well up to height. Some of the fences felt quite meaty for a 70 but then others were very kind. It was all very...
I am in no rush whatsoever, fully open to having my mind changed :D
I do have a major soft spot for conures, so they are still at the top of my shortlist so far. Although I would love to have a good talker. Been looking recently at Quakers, they do look like lovely birds.
Someone...
We're off games currently. Nursing a splint that B developed 2 weeks ago after busting through a fence with his mates. He either bashed it or got kicked... either way, it's shrunk a bit and gone hard. Hard to tell if there's any heat left as everything is hot in general! Just playing waiting...
I've always loved birds and we kept a few when I was younger. My mum had 2 cockatiels and later on we had conures.
I've now got a job working from home full time so I'd love to get a little bird (I'm working on OH to agree to a adopt a dog, but this will take some time lol).
I'm just...
I use one of those bun rollers - you tie your hair into a (very low!) pony tail, use this bun-maker to roll up the hair which then snaps into place. Then hairnet over the top with an elastic around the bun to keep it all neat and tidy.
If that doesn't make any sense, here's a handy YouTube...
Brilliant photos! H is gorgeous, just my type :)
You're doing great, you shouldn't be so hard on yourself. You're not riding very often yet you're still achieving so much - that speaks volumes.
Enjoy yourself!
Nothing planned Saturday. SJ arena hire for 8am on Sunday in an attempt to beat the heat but will be a vile, early get up lol.
Have fun at Hartpury, if you go MP. Good luck at Pyecombe HGB, and have fun hacking FF :)
