Thank you so much for all your replies. It’s for my daughter and she’s not quite ready yet to start looking, but some great websites for when we start x
Hi, haven’t posted on here for years!
Unfortunately we had to have our old 27 year old pony put to sleep last week. She was my daughters once in a lifetime pony who we owned for 11 years.
We cut some mane from her and I would like to get some jewellery made from it. (Have heard this is...
Thank you for your replies. I had thought of putting the two in the other sid3 of the partition as they do get on brilliantly. Only problem being little one can go under the middle partition flaps (if that makes sense!) Might just have to leave one behind!
i am hoping to get out and about a bit with my daughters old pony (14.1hh) and 2 miniature shetlands (smallest is 34).
We have a Ifor williams trailer. Is there a safe and legal way I can travel them all together?
They all get on really well and often share a stable. Was wondering if I...
My old cav had a heart murmur from very young. It got worse quickly at the age of about 11 years old. My vet didn't treat as there were no symptoms. Had him pts at the age of 14 (nothing to do with his heart).
Thank you for your replies. He has now been lame for 10 days-although is sound on the metacam. He hasn't been walked and is on very restricted garden activity (although he chased the cat today!) I had googled panosteitis and that would be a good result, will have to wait until Tuesday's X-rays...
We have a very gorgeous 7 month old golden retriever puppy. He went badly lame after a walk 10 days ago. Took to vet, who said it was probably a sprain, put on metacam and rested it. After 4 days he seemed very happy and sound, so took him off medication and did a short walk on the lead. Next...
Congratulations! We had a similar experience with a Shetland years ago who had been out on loan. Had no idea she was pregnant until we saw a foal in the field as we drove down the drive on the school run! Turned out to be a cracking little pony who we've had great fun with! Although a TB is a...
We have a house in Anglesey so know it well! Great dog walking- most beaches are dog friendly and usually quite empty.
Try Menai holiday cottages- very good company. Newburgh beach has very good walks, amazing beach. Try oyster catcher, white eagle and black lion for fantastic pubs.
He loves attention- more of a dog than a horse! Does get lots of love here- but has to share it with other ponies/dogs/children/chickens/husband!😀
He loves going for a hack but he's not a busy type, so quite happy as long as he has food. So I'm not sure he is that bothered about being...
Thanks for replying. It's not a financial decision and I would never advertise him, I am sure I could find someone by word of mouth, he would only go to someone very special. No rush anyway, just jiggling at the back of my mind!
If we ever get some sunshine I might feel differently!
I am considering putting my highland pony out on loan. I just don't have the inclination to ride him at all. He is 18 years old and I will never sell him, but I feel guilty making him carry me (tall but not too overweight!) and he could still give a pony mad girl a few years of fun.
So...
Right, thank you for all the suggestions- I'm off to sports direct to buy a running belt! :)
Although now the weather will break and being too hot in a coat will be a mere dream!
