Can anyone recommend hacks we can box up and park at?

You'll be in the area covered by the West Riding Group of Endurance GB. Between us and the neighbouring groups there are plenty of organised rides in your catchment area. And plenty of people to meet up with and ride out with if you're not looking for organised rides. Drop me a private message...

Cremation for charity rescue horses?….a waste of money?

When you sign up to donate to medical science you have to be very specific about what you want to happen, and what you don't want to happen. There are options. Your family can get the remains back (via undertaker) so that they can have a 'normal' burial or cremation, or you can have a cremation...

At my wits end: cat attacking her tail

Ours does this - she did bite off the end of her tail at one point. The cone of shame doesn't really work as tails are long and bendy. The vet said it becomes a vicious circle - once they've got a scab, it itches as it heals which means they chew it more etc etc. Once she had actually properly...

Riding Tights - what on earth is the attraction?

Proper endurance riding rights with a padded bum and knees are ace, much better than jods or breeches. Very hard-wearing, no annoying seams in the wrong places and much more comfortable. Plus bright funky colours.

XL Bullies not banned in Scotland

No idea - I was just going off what some of the rescue orgs have been posting as reasons why they're overloaded on social media.

XL Bullies not banned in Scotland

From what I've seen, tennants will need to reapply to their landlord for permission to keep their dog and there's no obligation on the landlord to accept.

XL Bullies not banned in Scotland

Re Dogs being PTS - I think the main issue is that a) quite a few landlords have said they don't want the dogs in their properties, leading to a lot of them being handed over to rescues and b) as of today, rescues in England can't re-home them at all as per the regs. So any left in English...

    Dangerous stallion?

Love her ❤️ Everything an Arab should be - fierce and brave enough to go to war for you, calm enough to live in your tent. I hope she can find a solution.

Is there such a group of people?

This, definitely. The wonderful thing about endurance is that you can take what you want from it. And it's full of people with just your mindset, particularly at local rides. Lots of multi day rides too - so if your aim is a laid back fun weekend hacking out with new friends and camping with a...

    Dangerous stallion?

Heck, so sorry she's looking at a challenging/life changing prognosis. I know it's early days but she is in the right sport. There's a huge amount of support available in Endurance for para equestrian riders. When she's ready, the para committee will talk through any reasonable adjustments she...

    Dangerous stallion?

Wow - I saw the gofundme being shared around but didn't know the background. How terrifying. And what a brave little mare. A good Arab will absolutely have your back. Next doors ram got into our field once and started attacking Kerry, and our Felix puffed himself up and put himself in between...

    Another Man V Horse entrant…

Re weight - it's always a contentious issue. But one place to start might be to lobby the FEI to remove the requirement for international endurance horses to carry weight. FEI endurance is the only remaining FEI discipline with a minimum weight requirement, and for a wirey fit 14.2 Arab to carry...

    Endurance

If the pleasure ride is being run alongside a competitive ride, then there will be a trot up for the pleasure riders too. If it's being run on its own with no competitions then there's no vet checks. All the rides are listed on the Endurance GB website and there's a helpful map so you can see...

Endurance Has anyone successfully competed at endurance with a PBA?

Part breds are brilliant - best of all worlds. Some of the all time greats have been part breds. I got up to 80km with my friends arab x Welsh - he won the WPCS part bred performance award one year (and on the weekends he wasn't endurancing, he was dessaging or showing - so, so versatile). Give...

    Settle loop of pennine way

Yes, it's very well signed and the guide is clear. It's steep in places and one section can get slippy in the wet. But it's a nice day out and very pretty.
