Prostaglandin to bring mare into heat.

I had a mare that didn't show in heat! The vets said she had a persistent corpus luteum which secretes progesterone and stopped the mare coming into heat. We PG'd her and bingo, she caught first time!

Breeding from a horse that carries pony blood?

Thanks cundlegreen. A foal by her own father - oh no! A good blood type could work but as I'm breeding to keep I need something that would eventually carry 14stone. Any suggestions?

Breeding from a horse that carries pony blood?

My mare is a 5yo, 16.1hh, Irish sport horse, who's dam is a 14.1hh pony (welsh/arab/connie) and her sire is a 16.3hh Irish Draft. I'm considering breeding a foal from her to keep for myself, planning to select a stallion with tall genetics but I have thought it is possible that she might produce...

Towing with the newer Kia Sorento 2.2 CRDI 194 BHP

Yes the manual has increased TC (2500kg) compared to the auto (2000). The terrible rust on the chassis and the poor mpg really put me off the older ones.

Towing with the newer Kia Sorento 2.2 CRDI 194 BHP

I'm Confused - The newer ones with a 2.2 diesel engine have more poke than the older (2007) models! By poke do you mean brake horsepower and torque? Newer - 2.2 diesel engine have 194 bhp with 322lb ft of pull from 2000rpm Older - 2.5 diesel has only 168 bhp with 289lb ft of torque from 200rpm

Towing with the newer Kia Sorento 2.2 CRDI 194 BHP

Hello, Thinking of buying a 2015 Kia Sorento 2.2 CRDI with a braked towing capacity (TC) of 2500kg to tow my ifor 505 (1,000 kg) and two 16hh Irish sport horses (1,100 kg). Does anyone have one for towing? I used to have an old (2004) Sorento 2.5CRDI with a braked TC of I think 2800 kg that was...

Where is good to take your horse for off-road riding around the Manchester and surrounding areas?

I want to box-up and take my horse for a ride somewhere in and around the Manchester area this weekend. I have checked the equestrian diary for pleasure/farm rides but don't seem to be able to find one without driving too far. I have been to Summerford Park and Daisy Nook country park - Any...

Do your partners accompany you to the yard?

It's rather strange that it offends you that she brings her husband and son with her every evening? Do you only allow females on your property?

New horse is lame after a trim

I bought a lovely 4yo, 16hh Irish draft x connie/arab mare last week. She was slightly underweight and had overgrown feet - farrier said she probably hadn't been trimmed for 6 months, feet were long with flares and small crack in front hoof. Farrier trotted her up before the trim - he then...
