Are equestrian events allowed under the new rules?

Thank you for this. I think our little, local thing should be fine. We will be on a large field with plenty of space. All entries are pre-event by post to the club secretary (to avoid people gathering to pay on the day) and we are really pushing the social distancing message to everyone. Let’s...

Are equestrian events allowed under the new rules?

A small club event, with maybe 25 riders. A mix of showing classes and low level jumping.

As title really. Am the only one who’s a bit confused?

Getting the dog into the car!! .... steps of a ramp??

Hello all .... we have just acquired a LR Discovery. The back opens via a lift up door (top) and a drop down door (bottom). The resulting jump up and down for doggy is pretty high, so we are looking to get either some steps or a ramp to help. Anyone got such a thing they can recommend? Thanks all.

Is it time I gave up?

No, we don't. I've been there 2 years now and never been in the owners house! But the point is, I forgot to go. Never crossed my mind .... I'm really mad with myself.

Is it time I gave up?

I agree, but the yard in on a farm where the owners are shielding for health reasons (YM leases the stables/turn out etc from them) and they are making the rules at the moment. The farm house is immediately adjacent to the barn so they're being quite fussy about it. Hopefully, the situation will...

Is it time I gave up?

My yard has been on lock down like many others, and my time there has been limited to specific (short) hours on specific days, to enable everyone there to get some horse time. I have just enough time to go, have a short ride (30-45 mins) and leave. As such, I've barely ridden since the end of...

    Why are people like this?

I take disposable gloves and disinfectant spray with me shopping these days. Put on gloves, walk to trolley pick up, spray handle before touching it to try to avoid passing bugs from handle to goods. Keep gloves on while I shop, pay and load stuff into car. Remove gloves before driving home...

5 THINGS CORONA HAS TAUGHT ME

    1) I worry too much about inconsequential things. 2) I have great friends. 3) My husband is actually a pretty decent human being and I married him for very good reasons. 4) I can manage very well only shopping every 10 days or so. 5) There is a lot right about my life, and I should focus more on...

(With apologies!) ...Another "dog walking during lock down" thread

:):) ... Thanks for that clarification. Think I might bookmark that one and re-read it when I get in from walking the dog twice, popping to the yard to see my horse and nipping out for some milk ...... oh ... hang on ..... o_Oo_O:oops: .........

(With apologies!) ...Another "dog walking during lock down" thread

Quite a few it would seem! I heard this morning that our local police are asking people NOT to report infringements, as they are inundated and have better things to do than chase up the odd solitary "twice a day" dog walker. As someone has said, it's more about large gatherings etc. However, I...

(With apologies!) ...Another "dog walking during lock down" thread

Yes, I have a bit of a grass verge area outside my house too, so could possibly just walk him up and down there in the mornings for "toilet" purposes, then go for a proper walk in the afternoons, which I prefer. As for reporting my neighbour, well, I have absolutely no intention of doing...

(With apologies!) ...Another "dog walking during lock down" thread

Yes, I'm with you on that. Although we live in a quiet rural community (thank goodness) I do still meet the occasional person as I walk the 3 hundred yards or so to the nearest entrance of the heathland area. The other day, I got shouted at by a neighbour, as I met another woman walking towards...

(With apologies!) ...Another "dog walking during lock down" thread

I was sure someone would come along and say just that. I agree with you actually, although I did go out twice yesterday and know/have met many people on a two walk per day strategy. Think I might have to alter my routine to go once, later in the day and try to make that into a morning and...
