    Horse failed vetting!! What now?

There are lots of things I wouldn't worry about on a vetting, but a declaration of a previous suspensory injury isn't something I would overlook easily, I would want to see vet history relating to that injury and possibly scans, I would only then make a decision but even then the horse would...

    Nagging YO!

I think its that it was more the lack of relevance of it so it came across judgemental. I know its good to vent and if its not suiting you there are always other places you could try, some people make lots of moves until they find somewhere both they like and their horses are happy. With...

    Classical riding clinic - report

How interesting, I have started having lessons in hand with a classical trainer, I have done a lot on my own after going to a lot of lectures and demos but the lesson was brilliant for me. My biggest battle was getting my horse to accept a whip being anywhere near her, its still a work in...

Washing horsey things in your home washing machine!

I do all my horse stuff when he isn't there then do the dog stuff, rinse cycle and then if there are any hairs stray I say I've washed the dogs bedding ;)

My first thought would be an ideal, and you can get some lovely ones second hand for reasonable cost.

    Riding and jealous partners?

Its possible but over the last few years I have spent less time riding than I have over the many previous years, I only ride one horse now and have always had 2 at once so I don't think its that, he is antagonised by me going riding with any straight guy on my own, no problem at all with me...

Breeding - I know it’s always a bad idea but...

I bred from my Hanoverian mare, I chose purely on what I would like myself and would be saleable if I needed it to be, I went for a Westphalian stallion with very famous lines and I knew personally some of the offspring - that was probably the biggest selling point tbh. I had considered an ID...

    Riding and jealous partners?

Yes he comes up a fair amount so he knows who people are at the yard and you can normally tell ;)

    Riding and jealous partners?

I see your thinking but I wouldn't say its a long term situation (maybe 7 months ish) as previous yards I have been on I've only ever ridden with gay men, this is probably the first yard with straight men to ride with aswell.

    Riding and jealous partners?

Nope not younger and fitter! I am bemused by it, I don't really have any male (straight) friends away from the stables. I guess he may be threatened that I am having fun with another guy and not him but he doesn't ride so don't have the choice there!

    Riding and jealous partners?

Does anyone have to deal with this at all? We have a mixture of men and women at my yard and if I ride out with a guy (straight one) it is an issue. Is this normal? (I will add we have been together for many, many years, have a family and he has no reason to think I would cheat).

"not a micklem horse" on dressage sheet

I don't think there should have been a mention but I do think a horse wearing a micklem highlights there are contact issues, I don't know anyone that has one that hasn't tried it to help resolve issues with the contact. So even if a judge doesn't say or write it the thought may well planted...

    ‘Not a novice ride’

I would say exactly this, I have an amazing horse that I would describe as 'not a novice ride' she is awesome for me and other experienced riders, she has done well eventing and dressage and yet I can hack anywhere I like but is far too sensitive and sharp for a more novice riders and I have let...
