Equine America Super So Kalm Plus is the only calmer that apparently works on ANY horse regardless if it has a magnesium deficiency for not. Most calmers are magnesium based so will only work if your horse is magnesium deficient.

I think A) Because the horse is on trial and there is the option of just sending her back and B) That it may be something that she has done either on the journey or in new field since I have had her and C) That i'm querying the saddle fit so basically there are other avenues to explore first...

Vet is saying X-Rays are a drastic action at this stage and wants to see her first. Instructor did suggest bute trial so see what vet says. Thanks for your replies.

Has anyone with a 'cold backed' horse gone on to find that there was an underlying medical cause and the horse was infact in pain for another reason that wasn't checked out?

Can anyone tell me where and how I can report a farrier due to bad farriery causing lameness and unnecessary vets bills on BOTH of my horses in the last 2 weeks? Will I need a vet report? I am fuming and feel at least my vets bills should be reimbursed. Thanks.

The only solution to prevent fly bites is a fly rug. The best thing to treat them with is Benzyl Benzoate works wonders and stops the itching. You can get it from any pharmacy although it's been quite hard to get hold of this year.
