Just an update on my boy. Went over this morning and the swelling has localized to above the fetlock and on either side now too. No heat or pain even with a good squeeze. Still mildly lame in trot.
Sent pictures onto my vet after chatting and he is sure it is tendons sheath inflammation. Said...
Thank you , will keep him in for a couple days till the weekend I think, lucky as we have some small sand turnouts too so if he's not too sore might supervise him in one for a couple hours over the weekend. He's 17.3 so hate when he's on box rest!!!!
Am hoping as there is no swelling at all on the back, its above the fetlock on the inside, it's not,.:oops:
But like I said I'm not experienced with these things, just optimistic ?:p
I'll give it a few days for swelling to go down and bring him for an ultrasound I think
Other thing with him is 2 weeks ago when shod the farrier mentioned a bruise on his heel on inside of that leg, said it should not affect him as we don't jump. Hoping he maybe landed on that bucking
Wouldn't cause swelling though..........
Hi guys, just wondeti g if a yo e has has a similar experience.
My horse was out in the field 2 days ago and freaked out as trucks came past. The girl who runs the livery yard went out to catch him as he was sweating and pulled off his right front shoe. This got put back on yesterday.

Yes just normal shoes atm. However my farrier let me down after Christmas and his feet got a tad longer than I'd like. Since that he's looking slightly flat in front which isn't his usual foot confirmation, so perhaps has something to do with this too
Thanks so much for the reply! I'm pretty sure his back and hind are okay. He had chiro 6 weeks ago and said it's in great shape. He also was sound after the nerve block, so im thinking that wouldn't mean that foot?
