    Norton Heath EC 2012

I really like it there. We stopped going some years back as huge entries meant hanging around for hours, but went back for the 3 day aff jumping show last December and also the amateur inter-nation show in April. I've never had a problem with any staff, they've always been friendly and seem...

Dealings with this company - Instant Space

Hi Has anyone had any dealings with a company called Instant Space? I'd be grateful for any feedback - PM me if easier. Thanks.

    square show jump poles

My trainer makes them from 4 x 4 wood (if that's what it's called ...) and paints them herself.

Does anyone know of an older 1.30m sj horse for sale?

www.johnwhinnett.com He has jumping horses and if he hasn't got what you are after, may know someone that has. He's got one on the website now that has competed to 1.30.

    Nightmare M25 and Felbridge yesterday

We were planning to go jumping at Vicarage Farm yesterday. We did think the traffic along the A25 was pretty bad for early Sunday morning, but turned off onto the M25 as there was no warnings then found the slip road to go onto the M25 the way we wanted to go was blocked by an "incident...

What's Vicarage Farm like for BSJA?

Despite living in Kent so not that far away, in about 15 years of competing BSJA I have never been to Vicarage Farm! That may well be changing this weekend! I was just wondering if anyone has been, what it's like, how many you get in classes (1.05 and 1.10 classes), do they build "strong" and...

Sellers questions and where to sell?!

I agree the photos aren't the best for selling - I'd probably try to get better ones. References - from who? Are they really worth it? Anyone buying can say whatever they like but it doesn't mean they will stick to it, plus people's circumstances change.

Prepareing for Hickstead - XC/derby suggestions?

[ QUOTE ] Felbridge have a 1m and a 1.10 derby this weekend. [/ QUOTE ] That's not really comparable to the Hickstead one though IMO. The bank isn't as big or steep, last year they didn't often have a water jump in it (and if they do, it's a portable one with a fence halfway over it so not...

Prepareing for Hickstead - XC/derby suggestions?

Agree with the fitness - especially if you are jumping there all week. It is good fun, there's not really much else like it (I've done a few other "local" derby's which were a bit kinder) and if you can get somewhere to practice ditches, banks and open water jumps then that should be fine. It...

Follow-up to my post abour horse prices yesterday...

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Going to shows and always having a pole and never getting placed is soul destroying after a while. You can buy what you want for your budget. I thought the first horse on Horsequest> Showjumpers> Grade Bs was nice [/ QUOTE ] What and one that has all the scope...

Follow-up to my post abour horse prices yesterday...

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] but I compete BSJA and have done for years, and most that you see out and about with amateur riders will jack it after a while at 1.20 + - unless they are kept at a professoinal yard and/or a professional gets on them to sweeten them up every now and then. [/ QUOTE ] I am...

Follow-up to my post abour horse prices yesterday...

I think there's lots to think about here that were picked up in your previous post. Age - an older graded horse will be cheaper than a young horse with the "potential" to do well. How genuine? I think a genuine and careful horse with the scope to jump 1.20 plus, with an amateur rider, week...

    Dealers

I've bought all my horses from the same dealer that I've known for years now. He's a show jumping guy, very good reputation, has very nice horses at not ridiculous prices, and I'd recommend him to anyone.

    A How much?

Looks like he has a neat jump. So based on what people think he's worth, did you get him for a good price!

Anyone had lessons with Jane Annett?

Well she said she'd teach me! I think just like any of these people that compete a lot, it's a matter of getting a time when they are at the yard. Made more difficult by the fact I work full time so can only do weekends.
