    Dressage throatlash and noseband, why?

"Prefer" more metal in its mouth? Or "easier" to ride? Shouldn't we be trying to show the outside world that we can train our horses without the need for gadgets? Which in absolutely possible by the way, just need more time and patience, but that is where it stings for most people. Anyway...

    Dressage throatlash and noseband, why?

Probably not helpful for you, but in the Netherlands the PS bridles are competition approved, without the throatlash. Can't imagine they are still mandatory, as throatlashes don't really prevent a bridle coming off, they are too loose for that (how many times have we seen showjumpers bridles...

    Posting parcel to France

You will need to send it with a commercial invoice for customs. This needs to include shipper/recipient details (email addresses and phone numbers), the customs value of the shipment (so how much you sold them for is ok) and the Incoterms (DAP/DDP etc.), basically who is paying for the customs...

    Dressage throatlash and noseband, why?

I really do hope that the FEI let go of the whole "double bridle and spurs is mandatory". I personally hate double bridles, people defend them saying you can hide your aids even more, but its so much metal in a horses mouth... Surely equestrians want to show outsiders that we aren't abusing our...

    Novice Breeder Looking for Tips

Breeding isn't for the faint hearted... or the broke... ? If you do have a blob, you have a high chance for a mare next year! Friend of mine used 72 hours old sperm (on purpose, wanted a mare). And her mare took it, she still ended up with a stallion ?

    Horsefly bites

I was bitten by one on Wednesday on my shoulder ? I have a bite pen for mosquito bites, it helps a bit, but not enough. Then I discovered yesterday that I still have some germolene. Put a bit of that on and it has helped against the itching and the redness.

    2023 Foals

My Frederiksborg mare is in foal to Cassanova du Bois. She's due end of March 2023. Very pleased with this years foal, so I've repeated it. Keeping this years foal, but next years will be sold. Already thinking of 2024 stallion. Thinking of going KWPN. It's a shame really, as there's only 1...

Sounds like there are some positive developments. I can understand the vets wanting to try a bit longer, but can also understand the heartbreak of your little filly, not really having a caring mother. I really hope Chilly settles down more for you..

    Maiden mare

Good to here that the foal is doing well. What a day yesterday for you.... Have you tried taking the mare & foal outside of the stable (turn them out into a paddock or field, different enviroment) and putting them back in? This sometimes helps the mare settle down and accept the foal.

Have you managed to milk your mare? Your foal needs colostrum ASAP. If you can manage that, you can feed foal by hand until vet has arrived.
