Aah so thats why I couldn't get my old boy through water when we went xc practicing, clearly horses would never see water in their natural habitat let alone actually cross it. Makes perfect sense now ;)

I suppose I can rest in the knowledge that my mare is well cared for and that if she did have a serious illness that I have a good 'team' of professionals around me (farrier, dentist and vet are all great) whose opinions I trust and who I'm sure would pick up on anything I might miss. I think...
