    RIP Kauto Star

And by the way, I have lost beloved animals in field accidents and thro illness, it did not matter to me whether they where over the hill or in the prime of life We did what we could for them. Which is what I suspect was done for KS, thankfully my beloved horses and dogs were not supposed public...

    RIP Kauto Star

Would you horrible people stop it, read AP McCoys tribute where he says how well KS looked and how happy he was, AP was at LC yard on a more than a regular basis, what do you really know? You are basing your horrible allegations on other peoples posts, for goodness sake a wonderful animal has...

    RIP Kauto Star

You see Alec, unless you personally know the people involved, and have spoken to them face to face, nobody can for definite say what went on as he left PN yard. All I know and I say again, it is not right to make a horrible situation worse by repeating rumours, and for goodness sake to quote...

    RIP Kauto Star

I have not been on the Forum for some time, have been a member, backwards and forwards for many years, left as it has turned from a good knowledgeable site with many experts giving advice and help to many people into a "facebook" thing, ie nasty uninformed, made up stories. I also found it sad...

Are horses getting sharper or are riding standards dropping?

Can you sell on an RSPCA horse you've rehomed?

Could we have someone from the RSPCA on here to clarify this. I have two rescue equines, 1 donkey, (donkey sanctuary) 1 very old pony (local Horse/Pony rescue centre). As far as I am concerned they do NOT belong to me. If I sold/gave them away I would be stealing. If the RSPCA are passing on...

word of warning - Lycra hoods

As an (ex) stable manager at many shows, I cannot tell you how many times, I went into stables and put back these awful things to were they were supposed to be. Most horses/ponies just standing there looking bewildered, but one or two going round in circles, not at all happy. Not nice to see...

    AP McCoy - 4000 winners

Not only was it owned by JP, trained by JJ, but it was an ex irish point to pointer, which won its point under the mountains of Mourne at Tyrella, which is as everyone knows is in Northern Ireland, home of the top National Hunt jockey. Meant to be. Written in the stars methinks.

    I thought of CaveCanem tonight....

Picture this.....husband out with dogs, last walk on our lane in pitch dark, three dogs come back, husband, by now getting crosser and crosser, shouting louder and louder, turns round and nearly falls over dog he has been shouting for...dog is large black dobermann, with as usual very black...

    Badminton Horse Trials

Now I may be wrong and forgive me if I am, but, I think that badminton have mobility scooters for hire. If I am right, would that make it possible for your friend to "walk" the course. I have a friend who was able to hire one at Burghley and it made such a difference.

Clifton Promise tests + for banned substance post Burghley

Could I just say as a stable manager at an FEI 3 Day Event, stables are closed to everybody at mutually agreed time, with us it is 10pm. You can only go into the stable area to visit your horse with vet's agreement and accompanied by a steward. Obviously it is not always possible to fully...

A mass update/end of season round up!

Loved your report BQ, but must defend farrier James, he was on the right channel, the people down at the 90 and 100 competitions were calling him on the wrong one! As soon as we knew about you, thanks to whoever it was that ran up to the stable managers in the International Lorry Park, he got...

Bottled Guinness adding shine to a coat?

Guinness is good for you. My horses/ponies all had a bottle added to their feed as a treat, especially after hard work, they loved it. Just don't let them drive for a few hours after it.
