I'm not suggesting anyone should do things for nothing, but in the same token,as others have stated most farmers if local will oblige, and probably have included the cost of time and fuel into the asking price per bale.
As for 'dead time' , anyone who has any knowledge of farming in general...
Jeepers! £25 each is what I pay....but an hourly delivery/fuel rate?? What a scam! I think Mr. Farmer is literally taking your friend for the proverbial ride.
I live just outside Inverurie and mine comes from local farmer who, granted lives about a mile away, but delivers one at a time as...
This behaviour is lack of respect and nothing more...he is stamping his authority within the (his) pecking order. Watch horses within a herd situation, this biting/nipping goes on all the time to establish hierachy.
Horses will assess their owners on a daily/hourly basis and clearly he believes...
It might be an idea to look at it from the farrier's point of view too.
My farrier is excellent, worth his weight in gold, and I have several horses so I book him for the following six weeks when he is here because there is always something needs doing.

Be warned, there is masses of stuff to read and watch, but rarely have I come across someone who talks...
Would be interested to hear from anyone that has had experience of pelvic fracture in the TB...what treatment was advised, if any other than rest/painkillers, and the long term effects.
I appreciate there are stress/hairline ones and then the more severe, but can horses go on to be ridden...
Thanks for the correction...I was having a 'blank' moment, and for the life of me, even tho' I knew it wasn't parasites couldn't think of the correct alternative:D...:D
HAPPA and WHW are two places that police forces retire their horses to for rehoming.
A few years ago due to a messy divorce that left me with no choice but to let go of a gorgeous 3/4 home bred ID, I gifted him to what was the ILPH (now WHW) with the suggestion he would possibly make a fabby...
Oh thank you, thank you! I feel so much less alone knowing how many others out there are still youthful of mind but the body is saying something else entirely:mad:
I can probably lament about most of the aforementioned posts....but why do I give a verbal running commentary about everything...
