    Thats great thanks everyone. Im leaving them out as long as I can, but the ground is just so wet just now, im trying to save the paddock, they dont want to be out in this weather actually, wanting in after 3 hrs!

    THanks for your reply, I just meant that they nicker back and forth! I wasn't convinced re the chicken comment either, but then I didn't want to argue as the person that said it has had horses for alot longer than me! But my gut is telling me he needs a friend, so that's what Im looking into...
