I can’t remember which model but I got a 1680 denier Rambo turnout rug and I think because of the tough material (it wasn’t a warm/thick rug) it was crazy heavy to lift even dry/new, sadly.
Is it the stitching on the top of the knee patches on your breeches catching the bottom of the skirt that covers the stirrup bars? I’ve got some breeches that can do that depending on how the knee patches are stitched on.
I have both and wear the dubarrys much more, but not for riding. I rode in them once and found their length meant that they caught on the saddle. The ariats are comfy and fine to ride in, but you can’t slip them on and off; because of the lining, I find I need a shoe horn. And they only work...

I've used them to do trace clips but found they struggled with the denser areas over the quarters, so reverted to bigger clippers for full clips. And this was on TBs, so not very coarse coated.
Jumping on post, but are you selling the Harry Dabbs saddle? I'm in exactly the same situation, need a saddle that's 17' but can take a decent length of leg, and to give the horse a bit of space in his shoulders.
My normally so laid back she's horizontal horse has just turned into a really cross to ride determined to buck you off beastie. I've just changed her feed from standard chaff to alfalfa, and I'm thinking this might have caused the problem. (Saddle and teeth done recently, so ruled out the...
I've got the K&M jump, and use if for XC, SJ (up to about 1m) and hacking. I like it - I didn't at first, but when I replaced the jumping knee blocks with normal GP ones (bates, I think) it got so much better. I know other people who have found the same - they just don't get on with the knee...
