I’ve been able to ride throughout, and my very sane and sensible mare was very jumping hacking at the beginning of lockdown. She’s nearly - but not quite - back to normal now. I agree it was the change in noise levels, and I also wonder if she was picking up generalised anxiety about the whole...
I pay £120 pw in the North West. Lovely friendly yard, good arena, hot wash box, solarium, theraplate. Half day winter turnout (winter turnout like hens teeth near me, this is great as they actually do get it) with a walker coming next winter. Ad lib hay, holding for farrier etc, 2 bales of...
With the constant deluge I think it’s time to invest in a good pair of waterproof trousers that I can ride in. I saw a fab all in one at Hoys that was toastie warm but at £235 a bit too steep! I don’t mind paying decent money for a good pair. Any recommendations?
I second the Cynheidrefawr stud - the ponies are renowned for their temperament. My mare is fab (although not a Pali) and my youngster is by Cynheidrefawr Creme de last Creme and he is such a chilled soul.

This is really interesting. My 3 year old loves any form of grooming - particularly enjoys a really hard groom / massage with a brush with rubber prongs! He would stand for hours. But hasn’t worked out how to enjoy being brushed and still be able to enjoy kissing his human. Or any human to be...
I have 40 years of experience under my belt. Saddle fitting for my mare this week, was riding and wondering what on earth was happening with her bridle. I hadn’t done the throat latch up. And I still don’t know if it’s throatlash of throatlatch.
The amount of times I have taken rugs off my...
I’m on full livery and mine go out overnight - so around 630 pm to 830 am which suits me. If I’m riding I turn out after. I’m the only livery out overnight though (I’ve got 2 and yard owners horses are out too)
I have had both my hips replaced, and am about 14 weeks post op the second one. My advice is go for the new hip! But get yourself a good physio who specialises in riders. I am having to work hard to release and strengthen muscles etc in order to literally be able to get my legs wide enough to...
