Disturbing is the perfect word to describe Easterton. So many times I would be in floods of tears while I was there at what was going on. I witnessed some truly horrific things there. What I don't understand is the amount of times the SSPCA were there, I only worked there for a few months and...
Unless you are doing DIY do NOT go to Easterton, in Milngavie just outside Glasgow. I worked there for a short time and was so appalled at the way the staff treated the horses I left very quickly. You would be fine there on COMPLETE DIY, just don't so much as even trust the staff to put your...
I know exactly what you mean. Mine are on DIY, and although I have a friend who turns out for me in the morning (there's no way I can be organised enough in the morning with a toddler!) I still have to go up late afternoon to muck out, bring in, rug change and feed.
I need to take my toddler...
So if my horse only gets a token handful of feed (as they all get fed at same time, means he doesn't go without) then I am OK to be giving PP to give nutrients and minerals etc?
Really? I was told that as he has had his feed cut down to the bare minimum and that the grass hasn't come through yet that I should use PP? What would you suggest I use? Should I keep using PP as well? *paranoia* haha :p
This is really interesting, I'd love a steamer but no way can I afford one, and I have a wallpaper steamer doing nothing in the garage!
So how do you actually build one yourself?
I use it for one of mine who isn't in work just now so is only getting a token handful of feed, so I give pink powder to ensure he is getting enough nutrients etc as there isn't a lot of grass in the field, as apart from that he only gets hay.
I used to ride a horse for someone who was a ****** to mount, wherever you were! To fix it I started mounting him and when he started to move use my reins to ask him to stand, but stay wherever I was (one foot in stirrup, halfway up, almost over etc etc) until he stood still. Half the time I was...
My grey has the same problem, I use vaseline, then just baby wipe off. Or you could sponge off but we don't have a hot water supply and I can't be bothered faffing about with kettles :p
I also switched from haylage to dry hay and it's improved a lot.
At first I gave the seller the benefit of the doubt and thought "aww, their grammar is really bad, maybe they're dyslexic" then it said 'backed by John Whittaker' LOL :D
I too thought it meant it could jump in and out of the sandschool so you didn't need to bother opening or closing the gate...
Hi,
This morning when I went up to stables, outside every box (3) there looked like a big yellow snotter!
Only one of them has been coughing, so I started soaking her hay and it seems to be improving, and there is no discharge around their nostrils that would lead me to believe anything...
