I bought Langford farm and running it commercially would never pay off. unfortunately the same for most of these equestrian centres. factor in insurance, maintenance, staff, cancellation due to rubbish weather and you have no business.
i'm not sure i'm watching the same horse as the commentators commenting on!!! the horse is "really enjoying itself"!!! oh yes the rigid body, pinned ears, head pulled in and tail going crazy all signs of a relaxed and happy hossie.
what i dont get is why they have singled out menages, what about swimming pools, tennis courts, football pitches, golf courses which people have on their private land. why dont they charge them commercial rates? why is it just menages which in all honesty is just a load of sand within a fenced...
we're in the same position and live just round the corner from burley, its the new forest district council which seem to have it in for us equestrians. we have a private menage and they're trying to charge us commercial rates on it as well, we will be giong to tribunal though.
aubiose is crap as they eat it
easibed is great and easy to use but expensive - worth it though as its absorbent, easy to muck out and doesnt smell
bedmax makes the stable smell horrible in the morning
never used megazorb
one of mine is fab with no shoes (arab x QH) and the other a criollo is pathetic although we are still trying.
i have the easyboot epics which are fantastic and fit them both, dont rub and they hack out fine with them on.
both have been barefoot for about 4 months now.

Congratulations on your purchase.
Was Langford Farm the place with the big grass arena and wooden fencing around it? I've never been but my sisters went there for BN 2nd rounds I think. Looked nice on the video if it is the same place.

wow studland is great fun- would love to take my youngster there.
good luck at crofton, bet he does a lovely test.
i'll let you know when we've moved in -seems like bartleys a lovely area and cant wait to get in there.
thanks - very excited and can't wait to have my boys at home!
Burtie- unfortunately there are planning issues with the new arena and we have to apply for retrospective planning on it , the only way the NPA will grant it is if we agree to have it for personal use only so we have no option...
