Sat here in tears and don't know what to do

I'm so sorry - I know how you feel... In my experience people sometimes have very unrealistic expectations and it sometimes takes very littlen(of completely normal and even well behaved horse behaviour) before a horse unsettles them...

    not another one!!!!!

hmmmm I am not good at this either but perhaps in the 2k area? Very good age and height for selling, and he is handsome, but if he would be used mainly for hacking I guess there is more demand for horses that are novice rides? Perhaps more if he was very good to handle in all ways. I think he...

Searching for yard or grazing for yearling filly in Oxfordshire

Hello I am looking for a nice and reasonably priced place for my little yearling filly to stay in the Oxfordshire area. I have googled some yards but it would be great to know what people would recommend. I also thought there might be places that are not run as yards as such but perhaps a...

predicting the final height of yearlings

I think this is only supposed to work from 1 year onwards. but according to this one of the 1 1/2 year olds I've seen won't grow any more at all and that surely cannot be right? I've also read that on average foals at 6 months have 84% of mature height.

predicting the final height of yearlings

I am still just looking, waiting for the right thing to come along! I find it confusing how yearlings ranging between 14h and 15.2h all are presented as 'will mature to 16hh'....! Is it plausible that something around a year and a half, and not more than 14-14.1 will still grow that big?? I...

    how much?

I guess well bred youngsters cost quite a bit but not sure what the price range you are looking at for yearlings bred to jump in the 15-16hh range...

predicting the final height of yearlings

hi there, other than looking to the mare and stallion the horse is from, how would you 'guess' what final height a yearling would be? For a warmblood type horse to make 16hh or above as an adult, what height would you expect it to have as a minimum when it is 1 1/2 years old? (Or, in other...

tips and pictures of your home made jumps!

I've seen brightly coloured pole 'sleeves' on the Robinsons website - a good idea if you have a few plain poles and want to try some different cololours? they also have cups to attach onto barrels that look handy. :-)

Does anywhere else sell anything like this...

not sure about horse tack sellers having those, but it looks very similar to the big square 'under bed' storage bags from Argos or Ikea that you can store duvets etc in?

    Suede seat

I've also had saddles with suede knee rolls :-) although it does turn into leather when very worn it is not that hard to keep clean - you can also use a gentle brush to brush up the suede, as you would with shoes. it never seemed to get dry and was less work than cleaning normal leather.
