I have a landy defender. Only had him since the beginning of November, so currently still trying to adapt to lack of creature comforts! Prior to my landy, I had a Hyundai Tucson, that has lots of gadgets and gizmos on it, but cost a fortune if anything went wrong (spent £2k on repairing the damn...
Blue does this when he is walked down hill in hand. Earlier this year, he had a whole heap of tests at Leahurst due to left hind lameness. He had bone scans, x rays, ultrasound scans etc. All was ok except mild changes to his sesamoid ligaments. 3 months of box rest and that is healed and he is...
I feed Blue Spilllers lite balancer - used to feed Baileys LoCal, but as the spillers is cheaper and smells much nicer, we have stuck with that :) Blue is looking really well on it too :)
I am with NFU and they pay 50% of the hospital livery costs - which at £27 per day soon mounted up. There is also a professional service charge which is paid daily - I think they paid that in full.
Blue had a bone scan back in May, we dropped him off Monday evening and he had it done on the Tuesda afternoon. They didn't take his shoes off. The bone scan didn't find anything, so he then had to stay a further 10 days until they figured out he was a medical mystery and sent him home on box rest!
We have 4 dogs and work full time - they spend all day snoozing, and when I took them for a walk on Wednesday morning instead of the afternoon, they weren't happy that I interrupted their sleeping time.
We have 2 rescues, one from Manchester dogs home, who we brought home 12 years ago, and...
I have a pair of ariat glacier and love them, really comfy and toasty warm in the winter. I had to use the shoe horn to get them on and off for the first couple of months, but they are fine now :)
I use global herbs super calm. He has been on it for month now. Before I started him on it, he went into orbit when we walked past a house when they closed their curtains. Since being on global herbs, he is so much more chilled - he even stood like a rock whilst a tractor towing a muck trailer...
I live in Mossley, and keep Blue at a farm in Millbrook. It has a small schooling arena, horse walker, 24/7 turnout in the summer. In the winter they are allowed out every day and the YO will turn out and bring in for you. Morning nets and feeds are given every day (including Christmas and New...
Blue ended up being referred to Leahurst earlier this year. He had both Peter Millner and Ellen Slinger baffled as to the cause of his lameness. They ran up a £4k vet bill with nerve blocks, gamma scans, x rays and ultrasound, then sent him home and said they thought it was ligament damage, but...
Hi all
Am just after some recommendations for a good farrier. My current farrier is really good, but is absolutely impossible to get hold of, never answers his phone and doesn't respond to voicemail or text messages.
Just over a week ago he took Blue's shoes off, as he is currently on box...
... You go to the shop to buy a bottle of wine and some random bloke points out you have straw in your hair. On this occasion, I hadn't even been mucking out - pony was on 24/7 turnout and I had been looking in my tack room for something!
