My horse has recantly turned 6 and he's been jumping since november and he really loves it! However he tends to refuse quite a bit, i cannot recall a single time where he has refused to the right hand side. He will always refuse to the left. He isnt over faced as he does refuse over 40cm jumps...

Wo I tried that but he still spun round and knocked the food everywhere

My horse has a really pink nose/mouth. I have no chance whatsoever of keeping a fly mask on him, if I try to put Suncream on his nose he lifts his head right up and spins round trying to knock me over, I can tell he is scared. How could I fix this phobia?

I'm having some lessons in a few weeks/months but until then is there any exercises I can do to lift his back? His legs come under him pretty well naturally, thanks.
