Carrots - sugar 4.7%, total starch & sugar 6.1% Carrots are 90% water. Of course the sugar content in dry mass is a very high %, but you're feeding fresh carrots. Healthy Hooves - sugar 5%, total starch & sugar 6.5%. Happy Hoof 5% sugar, total starch & sugar just under 10%.

Well the medics don't want to see me again, unless there's problems, GP not bothered. No referral for physio. So I'll take it easy and see what happens. May have to do some shouting if I run into problems.

Thank you for useful feedback. I'm 63, with osteoporosis, so want to do everything I can to make sure it heals well, and will try not to rush back too quickly. Was not impressed with the fracture clinic - no physio and no follow up appointment, although I have an open appointment for six months...

Ten days ago I managed to mis-step off the trailer ramp and went over on ankle. Have small fracture which isn't misplaced, but ligament has torn off bone, taking a small chip with it. Got a walking boot, and can walk a few steps without it. Still quite a lot of swelling and bruising coming out...

We were given 30% chance of soundness in 7 yo mare. Never got her sound enough to do anything much, kept her for 6 years as companion, when she went very lame after a farrier trim pts. If we hadn't had her at home would have made decision much sooner.

Yes fine now, thank you. The lovely consultant sent me for bone scans and found out I have pretty bad osteoporosis, so I was very lucky not to have fractured my hip. Has made me a bit cautious about what I ride, and upped my weight bearing activities.
