Feed for weak 5 year old still growing..? Where to start

What is her condition score? Unless it is too low, in which case seek professional advice, then ad lib haylage and a balancer fed according to the manufacturer's instruction. If she has enough energy levels when ridden then she is doing OK. Taking professional advice will save you money in feed...

    BHS Gold Membership

It is an insurance of last resort. In other words it will pay out only what is not covered by other policies. The response from BHS was in line with the terms of the policy.

    BHS Gold Membership

I am not a member but my recollection is that it was £60. Looking at their website it is £75 now. That seems a big increase. Is my memory faulty?

    Shoe boil boot

Thank you for sharing your experience., Much appreciated. I have found only one other UK person who has had this problem - my horse is a 19hh Clydesdale.

I don't think they are common either. I did find a nice antique shoe boil boot for sale but at £650 I didn't dwell long on it...

    Shoe boil boot

That was an autocorrect typo - sorry. I do mean shoe boils and they can be formed by a barefoot hoof as well as a shod one. Apologies for the confusion. I will see if I can edit the post.

Is there a UK outlet that sells show boots? The suppliers I can find seem to be in the USA. Also, does anyone know if they will fit a large draft horse? Thank you.

    Farrier costs

My trimmer studied hard for a long time and has a deep understanding of anatomy and biomechanics. It shows in his work.

    Farrier costs

£30 for a trim, and £50 to trim draft horses. I thought that was quite a lot given he does two draft and one other in one visit. Then he disappeared on me! Now use a bare foot trimmer who charges £40 regardless of the size of horse. He is MUCH better than any farrier that I have had. Takes the...

    Early jabs?

Assuming the first three done according to schedule, then no problem doing them early. The 6/12 months starts from the date that they are vaccinated - there is no 'credit' for unused time.

    Feed ideas for 3yo

I know weight has gone down but it doesn’t look to be a problem at the moment - not underweight. We are almost at the end of winter and we want them to be leaner at this time of year. Unless obviously unwell or not eating at all then perhaps just monitor the situation.
