You may not find them that bad to ride in - i used to have a similar pair as like you, changing in to cold boots wasn't an option, especially with time already tight! The ones that fit snug against your leg actually do give a reasonable amount of support. I wish i could remember the make of...
Thats the one thats £1600 on ebay? I can't afford that :( realistically im only going to be able to get one thats slightly older/scratched but they very rarely come up.
If you have the budget go for both!!
I think Equipe saddles are horrendous and no one should ever buy them.....unless of course you are ME ;) currently searching every single day online for a second hand Emporio (sorry, they are just IMPOSSIBLE to find at the moment due to increased popularity which this thread will no doubt boost...

I know the Equipe is cheap for the type of saddle it is, but the trouble is, I don't feel like I am worthy of a saddle of £2k.... I'm a grassroots eventer :) I was soooo lucky with my Equipe jumping saddle as I paid less than £800 for it brand new back in 2007 - they started rocketing in price...
Does the emporio give you a really good close contact feel? For me that's what's most important - I'm never going to be doing high level dressage (at most it'll be a novice eventing test! but absolutely adore my equipe jumping saddle as it feels so close to the horse.

There's no way hubby could look after him in week. The option of finding another mum would be ideal - would need it as part of criteria if searching for a new yard :)
