    Taunton Vale Foxhounds

Taunton Vale have a lot of big country!! Like others have said, lots of blackthorn hedges which require a clever, bold hunter and a drunk or confident rider lol! With relation to autumn hunting, hip flasks are not seen! Hip flasks come out on opening meet, I don't think I could drink at 5am...

    Complete beginner at hunting

The amount of jumping depends on the meet, some meets have a lot of jumps and some are very quiet. It really varies! Last Saturday we jumped a post and rail and this Saturday we had to jump about 10 hedges but there is always the option to go around the jumps as not all of the field will jump...

What type of pony should I buy?

There is nothing wrong with cobs! They are fab, mine does everything up to about a metre! Make sure you speak to your riding instructor as they will be able to help you decide whats the best choice for you

    Premier Equine rugs

I personally don't like PE rugs, they are so heavy when they are wet and take an age to dry, I also find them quite pricy when you compare them to Rambo/Rhino etc. If you do get them though go down a size the horse normally takes as they come up big :)

Riding with a stomach full of haylage?

That's going to be a lot of sugar all at one time, id pop them on the lunge and see how they go! Are you able to put it into hay nets at all?

anyone else moved to winter turnout (on a livery yard)

I have swapped over to my winter routine as of Saturday, it's getting quite chilly! But luckily we can do what we like, our YO just asks we don't turn out when it's rained all night and still raining in the morning! I quite like winter.... As it gives me excuses to buy new rugs :D

    VERY wet horse...

My horse is revolting, and I spent my day yesterday getting my mats out and washing down stable, luckily I have good drainage but he is so wet! I put a bag of shavings where he wees then I put straw on top. That works well I keep him on straw as it's included in my livery, so changing was...

How else can I possibly spoil my horse??

I spoil my horse by having 2 lessons a week getting him to work properly and teaching him lots of things. He doesn't care what colour saddle cloth he has on only that it fits him and its comfortable A treat in his eyes would be going XC!

Car for towing for an under 25?

I have just brought an 14 plate Freelander and I'm 20, and my insurance is £52 a month. I have passed my trailer test but it was extremely expensive! I was contemplating getting a 3.5 but I couldn't afford the upkeep of 2 vehicles, if I don't use my trailer for a month it doesn't cost me...
