Sadly, my only available hacking at the moment involves country roads. On leaving the gate, either way has fields of cows at the moment. My horse has no issues with cows standing/staring/grazing but recently we've had to deal with 3 stampedes! We DO NOT ride in the fields, just along the roads...
From what I've seen, where you live affects the price far more than the quality of horse.
In Surrey that type of horse may cost 3-4K.
In Staffordshire that type of horse could be bought for as little as £600...
As title says, at what age did you notice your horse going a bit grey due to old age?
My chestnut cob is about 12/13 and has started to show some grey hairs above his eyes (his eyebrow area?)

I live near Montgomery but due to the area being mostly farmland there arent many different places to walk and the dogs generally just hare about our fields.
