Countrywide horse feeds. Are they any good?

I've been feeding the value nuts for a couple of months and my Arab looks great, he's holding his weight really well. I decided to try their basic mollichop and he loves it. Ive tried so many different feeds and struggled to keep weight on him and I now love Countrywide value feeds. Just...

    Soaking hay

Thanks for all the replies, they have been great. holly bear - does your horse eat the hay out of the bin? Winkingwillow - I like the idea of steaming the hay but could I steam for 24 then hang in the stable in the morning until he comes in in the evening? Wiz201 - I love that idea but...

    If you school on grass...

I guess people like an arena just so that they can ride whenever they want rather than waiting for the right conditions. To be honest, I'd be grateful to be able to ride anywhere! YO has given us all our own little paddocks and has taken on more liveries so the whole field is taken up :(. I'm...

New here and need advice re pony going out/in or staying out!

I can honestly say that I have never been on a yard or know of anyone that has kept their horse in during the day in the Summer. Most people around here keep their horses out 24/7 during the summer and if not then they keep them in at night. Mine is living out as it is the best thing for him...

    Allergy Supplements

My horse has summer RAO and I found that Equine America Airways was the best supplement for him. It didn't get rid of his breathing problems but it significantly helped.

    waiting for the farrier

Ha! I always book my farrier for 8 in the morning, then he's always on time - My farrier is very good though anyway but I've had farriers in the past who have been 2/3 hours late!! That's ok when you're a teenager and at the yard all day but when you work and have kids, etc it's a pain in the bum!

    Horses and Family?

I have two children and work full time. When my first was born, he went into nursery at 7am and I went to chuck my horse out in the field before work at 8am. I finished work at 4pm and went straight to the yard to muck out, etc and picked him up from nursery at 5.30pm. It was a long day for...

    How to look after paddock

Polos Mum - very true. I think your right. I'm quite happy feeding ad lib hay all year round, just thought if there was something I could do that was easy and cheap then I would do it - but I don't think there is an easy cheap option. Thanks

    How to look after paddock

Hi there. I'm on a very small livery yard, with my own little paddock to do with as I wish. The top quarter of the paddock is trashed from the winter and my horse seems to like to hang around in this section. I'm thinking of halving the paddock so that the bottom half can rest and get some...

For those of you with horses that have Summer Pasture RAO

Thanks. I have no idea what's causing it to be honest.

For those of you with horses that have Summer Pasture RAO

Could you please tell me when this usually starts to affect your horse? Is it now or later in the summer? How do you know if it is the Summer Pasture RAO affecting your horse or if it is the end of winter COPD from being in the stable a lot? Hope that makes sense. Thanks ever so much.
