Would love some advice on the following please... I have had someone ask to loan my pony, who is getting on a bit. My pony is very fit and well, not stiff at all and still happy in himself. I have had the pony for 14 years, he has been loaned (mostly staying on same yard) to 4 different...
Ah. A friend of mine was mucking a haffy out, just as he had done every day for months, and no one knows what happened (as he was fairly dazed when I found him on the floor) but he ended up being booted out of the stall and had obv had a good kicking/trampling as his whole lower half was black...
Maybe you could go to some local comps as a spectator, and if there is anyone you think looks good and their horse/s go well, you could approach them and ask if they would be interested, or if they know a similar rider that they could recommend?
My pony is out on informal loan but if the loanee suggested anything like this to me , when they already have a pony for next to nothing, I would also tell them I no longer require them to loan the pony and find someone who would pay his livery, rugs etc.
My OH says 'Horses mean divorces!' I too have 4, but one is out on loan and and 2 are my mare and foal, out 24-7. So only one horse that is time consuming. He would rather I spent all my time with him, but I am very independent and like 'me time'. I try to have 1 whole day at the weekend...
I agree that a horse which gets in knots shouldn't be allowed to do this repeatedly, but think it should educated rather than just never being tied up. All horses and ponies I have ever had have started their education coming in during the day into stalls, tied up, for long perids of time. They...
This might be a no no but I upturn my ventair in the sink, fill it up with hot water and give it a good scrub out with washing powder, then put it in the airing cupboard to dry. I dont think they are ideally supposed to get that wet but the amount my head sweats it gets pretty wet anyway, and...
Ah well, looks like I am just going to have to accept the sweaty-headedness! Not so bad in the winter when I can immediately swap riding hat for wooly hat and hide my hair.
Hi, as the title says, I am looking for a hat which is cool as I get a very sweaty head when riding. I have a Ventair but dont find it any cooler than my old skull cap. I desperately need one as hate taking hat off after riding at comps, as my hair is always sweaty and too short to just tie back.

IMO putting highlights in a three year old's hair is nowhere near as wrong as getting a childs ears pierced at the same age. (I wouldnt do either but lots would).
