Damaged pedal bone - your experiences?

My husbands horse had broken his pedal bone before we had him but we didn't know until he got laminitis and was x-rayed for that and the old injury was found by chance. He was shod with pads and cushions for a wile after this to help support his feet, but now using natural balance shoes he is...

Have you injected your horses back?

Same for my chap, although he is old he is just not happy without his work. Got to the point where he would jump out of the field and come and meet you up the road when you were on the way back from hacking, so even to get back to gentle hacks would be good.

Have you injected your horses back?

My horse has had this done on twice due to kissing spine. The first very successful, like switching a light bulb, lasted about 2 years and I could do everything I wanted with him afterwards, then his behaviour switched again very suddenly so repeated hoping for the same result. The x-rays...

    Excessive sweating in trailer

My horse does this too (usually travels in lorry), but strangely not always and does not seem to depend on the weather. I have no idea why and have never got to the bottom of it, he is 22 now and has evented all his life travelling all round Europe in his younger days. He does not get...

    Isle of Bute

Is anyone from the Isle of Bute? My husband and I are thinking of re-locating there for a change perhaps temporarily, perhaps more permanently due to current pressures of work. We already have a house there to move to and the horses will have room too, but I have no experience of the horsey...

Feeling down.. aftermath of losing a horse. Experiences, please?

I am in a similar situation right now so I know how you are feeling. I recently lost a horse (a month ago) I had only had for about 18 months in an accident, because he was young fit and healthy I can't see how it will ever feel ok. I have lost brave and faithful old friends but somehow this...

If you brought your child(ren) up around horses...

My 3 year old has an 11hh pony, she got him for her first birthday, before that was plonked on my husbands 17.2hh just standing for a few minutes but he is very quiet. She now rides in a cub saddle on the lead rein, walking, poles and a bit of trotting, she doesn't really use the reins yet but...

    Anyone elses horse still moulting?!

No but my dog is! Very fluffy and black border collie, the heat is too much for her I think. Stripping her out most days but the hair keeps on coming!

New Trailblazers sj classes for adults on ponies :D

Shame you missed out with your pony but at least it's worked out for now. I am in my 30s, just small!

Those of you with 7.5 ton lorries...............

I've had this too! If I get told off at the HGV pump I say I didn't want to block the smaller ones, and if I get told off at the smaller ones I tell them at 7.5t I am not actually an HGV!

I wanted this about 15 years ago, but the pony in question is now retired and I now spend all my time eventing! Good development though.
