New Pony biting my horse -advice needed

We finally found a lovely first pony for my five year old daughter. He has been with us for about 3 weeks now. He is as go9d as gold for my daughter but has a definite twinkle in his eye. I cannot fault him except for one problem - he keeps biting my horse and my horse simply puts up with it...

    Groundwork resources

Cluelessblonde - I have since found straightness training by Marijke de Jong which is pretty comprehensive. But still keen for any tried and tested recommendations! 😀

    Groundwork resources

I'm wanting to start some basic groundwork with my horse and just wondered if anyone could recommend any good books, websites, DVDs or YouTube channels etc that might be a good starting point?

Classical dressage trainers in the north??

Just wondering if anyone knows of any CLassical dressage trainers based in the north. My usual classical trainer is unfortunately not available as often as she used to be so I'm just looking for an alternative. I'm based in North Yorkshire so the nearer the base the better! :)

Saddles for babies (human not horse!!)

Hello! I haven't been on here for a very long time as I've had a baby 9 months ago and have been rather side-tracked! But it just occurred to me the other day that there may be such a thing as a saddle cradle or something similar so I could take little one with me (me on my horse and baby...

    Comfiest seat saver??

Am gearing up for my first ride out hopefully in the next two weeks after baby arrived last week and for reasons I won't go into (TMI) I think a good padded seat saver will be of huge benefit!! :o I've seen a Nuumed and Prolite one which knowing those brands will be very good but at...

    Passport Name Suggestions

Just Jake?? I have a Just Sam in my field who is now 36. He was my legend when we used to compete etc and he was always as safe as they come, we've been together for over 20 years and he's still going strong - hard as nails!!! ;)

Do long boots help your leg/lower leg position?

I think there's 2 sides to this. With a pair of boots your leg can look to an observer like it is in a better position than it is I think. However, with soft chaps and boots or similar you can't "hide a multitude of sins" like you can with boots but I personally feel like I can get my heel...

Getting back into competing after having a baby...

Thanks NeverSayNever - great intel!! My horse physio is actually a human osteo too so I think I might get her to do me and pony at the same time so we're both ready to go!!! :D

Getting back into competing after having a baby...

Of course - we didn't do too much better in Yorkshire though things always being more extreme up with you we couldn't really complain!! I really think I might have picked a good year to be off games! Though I saw Hutton ran the other weekend which is a turn up for the books in it's own right...

Getting back into competing after having a baby...

Congratulions fatpony! Am so impressed to hear that you and others managed to get back on within 2 weeks and with stitches. Big fingers crossed I can do the same. Also thanks for your point about other people thinking you should do nothing other than baby from now on... this is a problem I...

Getting back into competing after having a baby...

Oh you guys are all fab!! It's so good to hear so many positive thoughts and stories. I wonder if it's just that horsey people are much more "get on and do it" in their attitude and the rest of the world is worrying that old ladies in the street will frown upon them having a baby outdoors...
