The livery yard we're on at the moment is right next to a motorway - we were worried at first that it would be noisy and spoil our time at the yard, but I genuinely don't notice it when I'm there. Also, my horse has become less afraid of traffic since grazing in a field near to it!

Ah, thought that would be the case. I can see why they do it, it's just unfortunate for us as we can't really go any bigger. I'd feel awful if I pushed her up a class and she went lame again; I'm sure there's somewhere else we can go.

My horse does this as well, and it used to really worry me! She canters up with her ears right forward, flicks them back as she jumps and then they go forward again. I like the comment that it's the horse concentrating - I'll be thinking about that next time we jump!

Same here! I'd rather come 5th or 6th out of 20+ than come 1st out of 2 any day. Some of my rosettes when I've come 3rd out of 3 etc are not my proudest ones and don't go up on the board. I do have a couple of those kind that I am proud of though. My horse and I don't 'do' dressage. We try...
