Yes I used to dye mine :D Jet black mare - had tail bandage left on too long and too tight by previous owner so at the side of her dock she had white hair. I used a spray on dye for this purpose to cover the white for shows. Once on and dry it didn't stain her tail bandage for travelling and...
A friend has one and he is a gorgeous dog. Very friendly and playful. Never seen him off a lead though! I only know him to say 'hello' to but he does seem lovely :)
I know the NHS are not all bad either vieshot :) My mother was a head sister in a NHS hospital for the elderley for almost 20 years and she retired VERY disullusioned about the way the NHS and standard of care for the elderley was going. This was a long time ago though. I am sure since then...
We can only go with our own experiences with any charity really. There will always be good and bad and much of depends on the individuals concerned as well as the overall ethos of the whole organisation. For example I have had some great experiences with the RSPCA, working alongside individual...
Memories for me too :)
As a kid I thought nothing of hacking 5 or 6 miles to a friends house, galloping about and jumping all day then hacking home (and yes as a kid cantering on the verges jumping the drainage ditches :D ) This was 3 or 4 times a week. Just make sure they are fit. I also...
Has to be character and temprement every time. The most talented horse in the world will not get very far if it won't work for its rider. A not so talented horse that gives its heart will get a lot further.

That is really, really sad to hear :( I know they have helped lots of terminally ill people, well under retirement age so I hope their policy has not changed. Everyone does make mistakes though - I have often been told one thing when another was the case, particularly if a charity has...
Particularly if copeing alone like this poor lady is! She is obviously fond of the mare and as an owner its very hard to see them in distress like that, particularly if you just lost one not long before as well. With horses they can die so, so quickly though. I always err on the side of caution.
