The pigs are out and, because there are so many acorns, the pannage season (when pigs allowed on the Forest) has been extended by six weeks until the middle of December.
Have rubber matting in an unlevel floor shelter and it works a treat. Not so sure it would be successful in a stable though as you would get wet patches as others have said.
I was advised at a Police security evening to mark my rugs outside with post code and inside with, 'Stolen From...postcode'.
It feels awful to have to write that in your rugs but some people round here have had so many stolen that they padlock the front fastenings together.
Really sad that we won't be hearing from you :( It was your photos and the anticipation of Dolly's birth that kicked me into joining the board. Can't believe it was only a few months ago that my first thought on waking up was to open the I pad to see if Tessy had foaled. They are both a...
Are you able to visit the yard before the interview? Or do they have a website with photos? Might be a way of finding out what is 'normal' to wear on their yard. If there is any chance at all that you might need to ride, then go dressed to ride, if not then smart trousers, boots, polo shirt...
Can't help with yards in your area, sorry. But when you are deciding remember those snowy winter mornings. I'd always go for a yard that is close by so that you can walk if needs be. The yard 20mins away sounds lovely but think about fuel costs getting there. Good luck.
I totally agree that the only way forward is to get an equine vet to do a full examination. When you next get to riding, obviously be advised by your vet, but I would avoid immediately going in a school and trotting and would opt for slow hacks. Good luck.
Not over reacting at all! Do make sure you tell this 'friend' how much time you now have to spend re-establishing the good relationship you had with your horse. I really hope that all your previous excellent groundwork means that your horse soon forgets the actions of this person.
And I'd...
I feel for you.... I even had a woman turn up with two children who, after trying the pony and liking it, asked if I could put all three of them up so they could have another go the following day! I politely gave them the phone book and suggested a few hotels. Unbelievably, they stayed in a...
You'll be amazed! I have had people nearly coming to blows over things, well past their sell by dates, I only took to fill up space on the table! One woman even bought a well snagged and patched fly rug with a totally dead zip just because it was Rambo!
