Thanks very much I have made my own before using this recipe but just don't find the time to do it (bad excuse I know). Recently found out one of the girls on my yard makes her own so she's dropping some of in my tack room tonight instead of the new stuff I just brought. Quite a lot of people...
I was worried about what I brought this morning but I've got what all of you have. I've brought the belviour tack conditioner bar,
Spray and leather balm. Also brought some oil for the old tack. Old and new tack have come up nicely so I'm happy!
I have always ridden with Sprenger system 4 stirrups. I've never liked the bow balance as they didn't feel as comfy to me but after hunting and showjumping in a friends pair I'm beginning to like them as you can feel the difference in the treds. I can't ride in normal stirrups due to knee...
Thanks for the advice. I've brought some new stuff this morning and my tack gets plenary of elbow grease, some of my tacks very old and down at that good no matter how long u scrub it for it never seems to be 'show ready'. More tack cleaning for me 😋
Having a big tack room clear out and need to get some new lotions and potions instead of having about 8 billon sponges and tubs of saddle soap which doesn't do much for my grubby tack! So what lotions and potions does everybody use for tack cleaning?
For boots go outdoors also sell snow/ walking boots. or there cheap version which work just as well but are only ankle boots. If your interested the own brand ones are called duck boots.
I also stopped buying branded horsey jackets. They don't last! Go outdoors sell a winter coat for about £25 and has three different layers so you can add or take off. I also feel the cold and this is the best coat I've ever had! Instead of buying waterproof jodhpurs buy a pair of thermals to...
Any disinfectant is fine. When we have a clear out I usually use dettol if I've got it or just pick up something from the shop on the way to the yard. You can use it in feed bowls although hashrouge is right nothing beats fairy! As well as disinfectant in stables and Bowles I always being the...
A while ago a pony was sold at a yard I had visited a couple of times. I had cared for him and led him in lessons for the owners daughter. I wanted to put and offer to by him as a companion and a ride for a girl at current yard who needs a pony to ride.
Would really like to know how he's...
I work at a riding school and a certain pony (who also happens to be my favourite) always has a good brush when he comes in. He also has a jet wash after a hard work and has a wash with just the hose and soap if he needs it. I don't like to wash them too much as I don't want to wash l the oils...
Not sure if this will work but yellow sulphur powder works quite well on legs and feathers but takes a couple of applications for feather. Hope you get rid of the mites soon!
Love these rugs! Work at a riding school and all our ponies have one. They last well with all the drama in the field and never get too heavy when it rains. Definately worth getting one!
