The Gallops at West Buckland, Somerset?

I have heard that the riding club are looking for a new venue as they held quite a few competitions there, and there is a rumor that Tom Dunn now owns them and he is going to turn it into a top livery yard, the best in the area! Hope he has better luck with the place than any of the previous...

    Bitting problems...

I work alot on the flat inc. flexion as I complete at 1.30m+ , however, I find these two don't respond in uite the same way. The 16.1 especially has very good lateral work and is so good off the leg he can canter virtually sideways across our 40x60 arena! lol. I was thinking about possibly...

    Bitting problems...

At the moment I am riding 2 novice showjumpers which I have had trouble bitting... One is a 17.2 hano/ID and is very heavy in front and leans very heavily. I have tried everything from waterford links to the metal pelham he has in atm. However, I find that although lighter in a stronger bit...

''I cant find a nice 2nd hand saddle... and I'm sobbing into my saddlecloth... ''

If you can get to Bicton, or Broomies, Caldicot saddlers always have a van load of quality 2nd hand saddles to try. They will let you jump a class to see if it suits. We just picked up a nice GFS saddle for £300. They will take your saddle in part exchange if it is reasonable

Being Nosy - what did she do ? Gemma Plumley

There must have been some incident to provoke such a reaction from the collecting ring steward. It seems strange that no witness has come forward in support of GP. There are plenty of people who go to any lengths and cost to prove their innocence - Jeffery Archer for instance. My daughter...

"First cruelty case linked to obese horse goes to court"

On the yard where we keep our horse there was a shetland pony on a laminitis diet of hay only. He started to deteriorate and it wasnt until my daughter found the owner of another horse on the yard giving him grass nuts and alfa a because she felt "sorry for him" that the cause became clear...

Being Nosy - what did she do ? Gemma Plumley

If she signed to agree that she had commited the offence she deserves all she gets. I read in the report that she had been witnessed on other occaisions hitting the same horse over the head, not just at Towerlands. If she was a jockey she would had been banned. Perhaps she should go on an anger...

Postal Strike - Is this the Death Knell of Royal Mail?

I have been waiting for my royalties cheque to arrive, which it did today, posted on the 8th October in Exeter - 30 miles away! My cash flow is pretty up and down due to the recession and it being late has made things very difficult. I also object to paying £5 extra to guarantee next day...

    Excessive Quidding!

Thanks for all suggestions. I think that it will come to a visit to our local equine vets for some more tests to eliminate all physical causes. His teeth were done about a month ago under sedation by our regular dentist, who has returned to check that nothing was missed - he has suggested...

    Excessive Quidding!

We have recently taken a problem horse for re-hab. He is a 6 yo irish sports horse who arrived with severe mental and pysical problems. He has responded well to physio (bowen therapy) and is progressing well. He was purchased by his owner as a cruelty case, very thin and had problems eating...

Liverpool Cream not worked what treatment's next ??

Have you tried homeopathic remedies - my mare had a sarcoid removed and another one grew near the site. It was growing fast and bleeding and vet quoted about £600 for Liverpool Cream. I purchased a homeopathic sarciod remedy from Holistic Pet Supplies and had a very good response. It has nearly...
