    Price of bedding!

Switched to straw this year, used to have big deep litter shavings beds but with the price hike of shavings I can’t justify the expense , I’d rather get the muck heap emptied a few more times as it will still work out cheaper!

    Novice Breeder Looking for Tips

perhaps you should look into stallions with better terms? Being as the season is getting on now some studs are offering some really good terms - depending how desperate you are to have a foal from your mare there are thousands of stallions around so it would be worth have a scout around IMO

    Maiden mare

Really feel for you L+C such a sad situation for the foal but at least she’s healthy. Have the vets given you a more ‘long term ‘ plan if things don’t improve? I understand they want to see if things improve but wouldn’t it be better for foal long term to have a better mother role? I have no...

    2022 Foals

well they didn’t say much but I think it was a combination of moving home from stud, a new routine and some more grass. The vet said they don’t eat much but going from stripped fields to grass I’m sure they do pick quite a bit during the daytime. All good now though been bright as a button all...

    2022 Foals

How are the already born 2022 babies getting on? I have to say we’ve had a bit of a rollercoaster with baby 1 until now. Mum has a nasty tear that she needs to go to Newmarket to be sorted at the end of June. Bought them home Saturday so she can have a high grass diet - as vet said is important...
