Hi all,
My horse has a loose shoe and I really need a farrier to attend (unfortunately mine is on holiday)
Would anyone here recommend me a farrier in the east sussex area and have their contact details? I'm really struggling to find farriers who will pick up the phone or reply to voicemails...
Hi all,
I'm looking for a good show jumping instructor in Sussex and found the two above on the British SJ website.
Does anyone have any experiences with them as teachers? Or any others you can recommend to me? Someone that's good with beginners (to jumping) would be great.
Thanks :)
Our school is included in the livery cost, although we have a diary to book the school and are entitled to half a hour per horse for basic schooling unless its a lesson, where you are allowed an hour. I would think it a little unfair that any livery would expect sole use for 2 hours each...
My horse tends to have bouts of being very difficult to lead (striking, rearing and pulling away) and today was unfortunately one of those days! We are working on it with instructors etc and like I say it's a pretty rare occurrence now (it used to happen every time!).
I stood my ground and...
So Sorry for your loss OP.
My sister died 10 years ago, she was my best friend and I suddenly felt incredibly lonely in the world.
A few months after, I woke up one morning and had an urge to learn to scuba dive (in November!!) I went down to the local centre, where they all thought I was...
Thanks! And good tip about breathing, I am terrible one for going tense and holding my breath when things don't go to plan and it definitely makes a difference.
I will try not to stress and just enjoy the experience. :)
After much deliberation and had a good talking to my horse about his behaviour he is now staying and not being sold on.... His behaviour has actually been impeccable ever since so I think he must have taken my words on board! :D
I have been talked into going in for our first dressage...
As some may be aware I came to the decision to sell my beautiful boy as I felt he wasn't right for me.
I've been really umming and ahing over this decision and I really haven't foundit an easy one.
We've had some issues over the past 18 months, including napping, rearing and being a...
Wow I could make a huge list! But my top things would be an indoor school (preferably heated! ;)), wash down area with hot water, solarium, walker, nice grazing and indoor stables.
Oh and I am a stickler for a tidy yard, can't stand straw and poo left everywhere.
Just a musing really.
Since I have recently had to make the hard decision to put my beautiful boy up for sale as I feel I am not his perfect owner, I was wondering how many people actually own the "perfect" horse for them?
Or do you put up with a set of your own problems (however big or...
Aww you're messages are all so nice. I do have to try and put my practical hat on and ignore the soppy, sentimental side that feels so bad about this and wants to try and try again to make it work :(
A friend said something to me today that helped - She said we aren't the only ones who love...
After a long time trying to get on with my boy I have finally made the decision to find a horse more suited to my ability.
Feeling quite sad about it all really as I have tried everything to make it work and it just hasn't :( It's not his fault but I just don't think we are suited as a...
Thanks so much for these replies, really helpful.
I am going to persevere, build up my assertiveness and carry on.
He's not the easiest of horses at times but I do love him and really want to get him going well and safely. Hopefully we can work it out. :)
