I did move from a yard where I felt like we were on a never ending cycle of 'bad luck', vet bills, pts, horses not settling, both ridden prospects both being ruled out of being comp horses anymore, all the space of a few years, when they'd both thrived...
I think its a tricky Q as both ways have merit and neither are wrong. I agree it is definitely dependant on the horse and what training they have had.
Topaz is much better leg to hand, she is insecure and likes the lead and support, but equally most of the higher level dressage work with her...
All mine have Henry James and the oldest must be around 7 years old and still comes up like new, sad if its true that the quality has gone downhill though :(. I bought my last one a couple of years back and its still in great nick.
I’m not sure when they switched from wooden panels to fibreglass, so for a ten year old trailer I’d be looking for signs of soft/ damp/ peeling panels. Same for the floor, I’d want someone to check the axels/ wheels/ breaks/ etc.

We have a Rutland solar powered energiser and its very simple and easy to use, so would recommend a solar powered one. We rotate round the fields so one that's easy to move and install was a must, you just put the earth stake in, hang the energiser up and away it goes! Way lighter than lugging...
