Think a transporter seems the easiest option thank you all! I just need to get some quotes for an idea on costs see if it's affordable for me.
This is something we were thinking of doing for retirement so no rush, I just cannot bear leaving my horses behind and lately we are considering 'why...
Has anyone done it recently? How difficult is it and rough cost? Looking for an idiots guide to this and what's involved. I'm doing some early research.
Was hoping to do it myself but wondering now if its easier with a transporter but having never used one I have no idea of cost or who is...
Ive used Carr day and martin canter coat shine since I was about 10yrs old, If they ever go bust or something I will be devastated 😂
I've tried others (esp when they changed the spray bottle 😭) but always go back to that product as its the best.
I don't bother with the mane and tail just use...
It is, so hard to keep them in best condition. I hate seeing her look 'manky and old'. I guess the immune system just gets worse with age? She also did a negative cushing test but she definitely has a weird coat these days. I havent got a pic of it now its grown back but its just patches of...
This happened to my 30yr old mare this year with her coat change all the hair come off her back where the saddle is and her shoulders, it looked awful, really flaky and some parts scabby and raw 😭. She does get a bit of sweet itch and senstive skin but its only as she got older this has started...
I bought a house with my OH and kept my 2 horses, budget we made at the time has gone out the window as everythings gone up so much. We did want children but have not been able to have them.
You really don't know whats coming in life so you might as well go for what you want and enjoy. It can't...
I worry about this with my pony as she is 30 now. everything would change without her, I only have one other horse, I keep just the two together on my own. I've had her since I was at school and im in my thirties now. She is still as crazy as ever out hacking, always fun to ride and puts a smile...
An old thread of mine but as its popped back up.. I did actual try this in the end and filmed her again, she travelled so much better. She basically stepped slightly sideways around bends then stood still forward the rest of the journey. The very first time I tried it she did fall over once at...
Glad it worked for your horse. Mine had it done today it did look really faff for them ti get it in the right place. Just hope it works, dont know what to try next tbh
Its called distal something.. I can't remember the name its the middle layer.
Whats the benefit of the arthamid? I've not heard of it, maybe my vet doesnt do it..
It's from an injury rather than wear and tear most of the damage is not in the usyal place apparently, its is in the distal something or other. I'm rubbish at remembering the name!
Arthmid has never been mentioned as an option, I don't know much about it
I'm currently trying hock injections on my horse with bone spavin. Ive never heard of tildren or arthamid either. It was never really offered by my vet as an option
If you dont want to ditch the trainer just flat out ask them not to hit the horse on the head. When I used to do groom work Ive seem people both professional and not do some awful smacking of horses faces for doing almost nothing and I can't stand this tbh. One of my horses was so headshy when I...
It bothers me a bit, my horse is 30 and although I still ride her and shes generally the same nutcase she always has been, I know shes pretty old now. I don't personally know anyone with a horse her age or that is still ridden. I've had her over 20years I would miss her terribly if she wasnt...
