I was going to make a thread about this as every part of the story just seems so bizarre. How can the first time someone hears of a dope test is when they're banned? How can it ever be acceptable to put a horse down when the owner/rider is not only there but requesting to be present? How hard is...
I don't know how you're coping with this. I struggle when it's only a few days of waiting to pick a new horse up! I would have burst with excitement by now, especially with how lovely Cudo looks.
I'm so sorry you and your daughter had to go through such an ordeal, well done for persisting. There are so many of these dealers and they make me so angry as they are toying with peoples lives. I hope your daughter found a horse she deserved?
Every boot I've tried spins round! I have LM Stealth mk 2 boots which are great (unlike the current version) so I'm hanging onto them for dear life. I went round most of Burghley inspecting every boot I could find and they all have tiny, narrow, strike guards hence the spinning problem and I...
This may seem like an odd thing to say but I didnt realise riding that badly was even possible. My boyfriend has never ridden and is not exactly a riding frame and he would be more capable than her. Its as if shes not even trying and why would you ride if you werent going to try?
Ive got a couple of pairs of the Dublin ones. Theyre really comfy and have just the right amount of stick for me once theyve been washed a couple of times, new it was a bit ott for my liking. Im not sure about the warm it part as I use them in summer too and dont notice my legs...
The thing with the ulcer and kissing spine bashing is that both conditions are very common and fairly easy to diagnose, so they are highly likely to be present both in "naughty" and well-behaved horses, even if they may not be the cause of all the problems it doesn't make them any less present.
I read an article somewhere that feeding a joint supplement from a young age, 3-4 yrs, can have some preventative benefits. I wish I could find the article again.
Donated £5, wish it could be more but I've had one too many vets bills recently. I always try and send any spare pennies their way as what they do is incredible.
My entire GSD is constantly got at by other dogs with the obligatory "Is he entire? Oh, that would be why" as if it's my problem. I don't mind as luckily he doesn't either and he never has a go back and tends to turn tail and run if it's a bad one and the panicked look on the owners face when...
This. So much this. I can't believe how many of these sorts of threads there are, and the excuses that are made for the OH. My OH and I both have expensive hobbies, horses for me, land rovers for him, over the years it has varied which of us is the main breadwinner and neither of us has ever...
I use my PE liners under every random rug I own, so long as you clip the rear clips on (sometimes they line up better than others, but it doesn't seem to matter) they don't move even if you don't attach the front tabs to anything.
I'm about to move one of my horses to livery. I've only ever had them at home so over the years I've accumulated a very complete tackroom, the thought of being without my "stash" when it comes to one horse is bringing me out in a cold sweat. I figure one step at a time is best and the most...
