How much for a warmblood foal?

I sold the only coloured foal I have bred for £4000 and she was very flashy. I would think you should be able to get something nice for that budget.

How much for a warmblood foal?

It depends how it is bred, it's quality, how good the dam line is etc. Are you looking for a top competitor or something to have fun on?

    Why are professionals not barefoot?

I have never seen shoes like this EVER! I certainly wouldn't shoe any of my dressage horses like this. All of my young horses are unshod until they start serious work and then the shoes are there to support them. Until then they hack and school unshod with no problems.

Derby House are they going bust or something???

I ordered a very expensive leather headcoller from them years ago, part of the deal was they would put an engraved name plate on it, when it arrived the name plate was too big and cheaply attached. Never ordered from them again. A few friends have ordered rugs from them recently that have...

    Will she be early?

I had a strong filly born a few years ago at 315 days due to the sudden onset of placentitis, fingers crossed your mare holds on as long as possible.

    Worming Foals.

My foals are wormed with eraquell from 6 weeks and every 6 weeks until autumn when they are wormed for tapeworm, then an equest over Winter. I do worm count mine too but I always worm youngsters regardless as worm damage can cause irreversible damage.

Reprimanding / correcting a very young foal?

If a young foal aimed a kick at me I would clap my hands at them and chase them out of my space, once bigger they would get a rubber bucket thrown at them!! I have never had to reprimand a foal more than a couple of times for kicking, they are just seeing what they can get away with. Mum...

    fussy eating in a yearling

Have you checked for lice? If Lice, worms and teeth are not an issue then i wouldn't be over concerned, he will ick up when the spring grass comes through. One of my youngsters dropped a lot of weight a while ago and he is a picky monkey, i bought a bottle of mollases from the feed store and...

    Outdoor arenas

I am looking at having an outdoor arena put in, ideally as cheap as possible but not so cheap that I end up with an unuseable arena. What companies have people used and got the best deals (we are in south West Scotland) or has anyone constructed the arena themselves? I was wondering if it...

Who struggles with watching racing due to fatalities?

I used to run Point to Points, at the busiest meets we lost up to 3 horses. Totally tragic but they were PTS so quickly so no suffering. Compare this with a horse who could be your best friend and you sell on, it is then badly treated or neglected or starved.... What end would you prefer?
