    WWYD - Sharer woes

I'm not referring to you specifically OP, but a common problem on a lot of these threads seems to be a lack of clear communication. I think that good horse people often assume that everyone else is as dedicated and will do things in the same way. When this doesn't happen, they are too 'polite'...

    Your fault, so pay up.

How much to charge a sharer *update*

Gosh, they really have no clue about equine costs do they? Best of luck finding a new arrangement that works for YOU!

    Advise needed on Horsebox situation

To be fair, it is quite possible that the garage have made up the bit about the old owner knowing so you don't have a go at them.

    What Happened To Common Sense?

I would just say that it takes a lot of skill to recognise when a horse is getting tired/ unable to concentrate, rather than just bored or trying to run its own training session. Surely it's better to work more and insist on ending on some bit of obedience rather than the horse "getting away...

How much to charge a sharer?

I think you are being highly reasonable OP. Don't be hard on yourself, hindsight is a glorious thing!

How much to charge a sharer?

Rather than feel guilty, look at it this way. You've had a very busy period of time and your sharer has had a dream share. Time moves on however and now things need to change to suit YOUR current situation. I do think your conversation needs to be with the parents though. Your sharer is too...

Would a scar put you off buying a horse?

Just thinking about it, if a horse had a scar and you knew the cause, would you have to declare that to your insurance company?

Would a scar put you off buying a horse?

It wouldn't completly put me off, but I'd do very thorough due diligence, talking to the vet who had treated the horse and my own vet. If all that was positive, I'd expect a pricing at he bottom of the usual price range for an animal of those capabilities (so a bit off, but not madly).

Would you buy a quality horse with an injury?

I saw an ad on the H&HO sidebar for a quality KWPN being sold partway through rehab from an injury. It got me thinking of the pros and cons of such a purchase. Without reference to this particular ad, would you consider taking on a rehab project in the hope of getting a very good horse...

Rant and opinions needed Re Rehoming companion horse

If the long term owner of an old or broken horse, the person who has had all the fun from it previously, doesn't want to/ isn't prepared to, support it through retiremement, what would anyone else? Take responsibility. Keep in retirement, or PTS with dignity.

Buying a horse. Pay loaner or owner? Best payment methods.

Really hope it arrives very soon. What a nightmare for both of you! Still, these things happen. Once it's been sorted, you will soon forget all the hassle and just be able to enjoy your lovely new horse. :-)

Can you have horses with a small budget?

It's possible to do as long as are knowledgable, skilled and very lucky re vets bills. Sadly, there are a lot of people keeping horses on a small budget, without any of the above. Theirs are the horses I worry about.

    Livery yard ... Soap opera

My last yard was a mad soap opera. Some real crazies! Then moved them home and it was like moving to calm radio 4... ;-)
