I believe that even if only one life is saved, it's worth it. My horse is a "rescue" horse. He was worth saving. Please, whatever your opinions, sign the petition to try to improve animal welfare. This is my last post on this forum.
Nothing, if there is no alternative, but these horses have been offered a chance of a decent life, which I believe they deserve as much (if not more) as any other living creature.
Well, pardon me for being ridiculous, but I stupidly thought RSPCA stood for Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. So it's not cruel to watch scum kill a horse which could have had a happy life with someone else?
If said scum doesn't have passports for these animals, I don't...
The Fosse Park "owner" has said he is having all the horses put down this afternoon, despite many offers to rehome them. I have never been one for the "RSPCA bashing" I have seen on this forum and others, but if they just stand by and watch this happen, they are a b****y national disgrace.
I just saw this, about horses in Fosse Park. Very upsetting, especially the video clip of the poor horse who just had no strength left to get out of the foot of water it had collapsed in. The usual verminous scum appear to be the owners.
After weathering many storms and gales over the years, the old barn at the livery yard finally keeled over last night and is now at a crazy angle, but thank heaven it didn't take off altogether. One side has lifted about eighteen inches off the ground and touched down again on a hay bale...
I should think that was Colin's place! You would drive past the War Memorial and St.Michael's Church and then Colin's yard is on the left. I have so many happy memories of riding out from there, both before and after we moved to Minehead.
lhotse, did you go from Colin Fisher's riding stables on North Hill? I used to ride from there, but Colin has retired now and just has a few horses as liveries. He had some lovely trekking horses. My friend owns one of them now. When I was little, I used to ride from the stables in North Road...
My pony-mad friend and I used to walk miles just so we could go and see some ponies in a field (not many ponies in Birmingham!) and we just used to watch them and think what we would do if they were ours. At school, we used to have pretend showjumpers and we used to jump over the big wooden...
Have made an extra donation (already support WHW, but this is heartbreaking news) and e-mailed DEFRA and our local MP, but I too wonder where these horses & ponies come from. Does anyone else remember a charity finding hundreds of horses and ponies in corrals in Ireland? I said to OH, I pray...
Yes. agree with this entirely. Just that my friend and I, as horse owners, were saying this morning we are very lucky compared to owners on the Levels. At least we only have mud and an underwater muck heap.
