I have got a pair of the Tully boots (the chunky ones) and they are super comfy. The colour I wanted was out of stock and I messaged them and they responded really quickly to tell me they weren't restocking that colour. They were comfy from the start, easy to get on and off and look cute :)
Thanks everyone, a lot to consider. Forgot to say that she is 16.2. My friend doesn't need to sell her, but we have had conversations around if I would like her, as she would only sell to someone who knows the horse and who the horse likes. I adore the horse (and she seems to like me!) so...
I may have the option to buy a horse from a friend, and need some help with what a fair price would be, as neither of us are sure!
13 year old Irish Draught Mare (not registered), lovely type, schoolmaster type (not high level), but is very nervous. Literally shakes with nerves, not great with...
I was recently looking for a sharer as I just needed some help. I spoke to everyone in depth at first, then invited them to the yard to meet me and the horse and then if I liked them I arranged for them to come over at another time to ride out with me. I found this helped draw out the...
I charge £15 p/h (for the very few I that now do), around our area ranges from £10 p/h to £25 and to be honest I have no idea what difference in service level you get! I do charge a minimum of 1 hour, though some I don't if I'm driving past or it's a friend.
I had a contract when I shared years ago (I had to write it though!) but it just detailed the expected duties, specific tack (i.e. boots always had to be worn), and any restrictions on the horses (1 couldn't jump). I amended the BHS one to suit it being a share.
I am on pure DIY for the first time in my life (previously been full and part), thankfully it is a small private yard with only a couple of liveries along with the owner. Also, my horse is fine on his own which does make it easier, though we do help each other out if needed.
My routine stays...
I pay £175 a month for stable and grazing. Small private yard with only a couple of liveries, we can turnout whenever we like and thankfully there is plenty grazing but we are all sensible. Flood lit arena and trailer parking included, and ok hacking. Have to buy own hay and bedding, but lots...
I had a horse that I used to ride who was a nightmare if another horse was in front, or we were overtaken. She spent most of her life in a riding school so always sought the comfort of the herd (any horse would do for her)! Annoyingly if we had other horses behind she just wasn't fast enough...
Lots of great answers above, when I have part loaned in the past I have always asked why they are looking for a part loaner. I found that those it was just because of costs could be more controlling and those that were due to time provided a bit more freedom. Neither are wrong but might differ...
I have a wonderful horse on loan and it’s his owners birthday coming up. Looking for ideas for a gift for him. Male dressage rider, £30-£50 budget. My mind is completely blank!
